Like the Jade Tiger available in China and the Purple Jade Leopard available in Taiwan, this pet was available for a limited time to players. This pet is the Korean equivalent, but the exact details of the promotion are unknown.

It is indeed sad we can't get this on EU/US servers. But to the people QQ-ing about china/asia getting all the cool pets: think about all the pets they miss that we have on our own realms :)

I think they could be jealous too about us :)

Blizzard should make these pets avalible to the rest of the servers, not just one. Would really like to see some new and cool pets come out, i am still hunting and still looking and still camping.

Just saw one of these on a EU server. I'm not 100% sure about it, but the cat had glowy red eyes and had "onyx" in its name. that's why i came here in the first place.
as the owner was a hunter, it might have been a hunter pet with some sort of size debuff on it.

edit: oh, just saw the comment above me. as i'm on that server too, this can be deleted!

I'm quite peeved that all servers don't get access to a feline type pet that doesn't take an enormous amount of luck/money to get. I really want one!

As cool as this pet is, I REALLY want this skin to be hunter-tamable. Barring that, I'd certainly take this pet ... if I played in Korea.

The next best thing to having this pet is, if you are a Jewelcrafter, you can have it follow you around for a short time when activating the Figurine - Demon Panther trinket.

Oddly enough, the mineral quartz form of onyx isn't black at all, rather it's fleshtone. In fact, the word onyx is derived from the Greek ὄνυξ meaning 'claw' or 'fingernail'. So to be truly accurate, this panther should really be a marbleized pink with hues of brown and red. Then again, onyx is also a synonym for 'black' which would make sense for this companion, but the mineralogy still throws me. "Jet Panther" would actually make the most sense, so, um... yeah. Cute pet.
