Xu-Fu is basically the reason why moves like Dodge or Clobber exist.

He is one of my go-to PvP Pets, and if I see the enemy team doesn't have a single pet capable of stalling or controlling the battle to neutralize him, I will send out Xu-Fu and -- like a harbinger of death -- he WILL take out the very first pet he comes into contact with.

This little guy telegraphs his attacks and can be very easy to stop with the right pets, but he utterly devours the unprepared.

They need to make a hunter pet version of Xuen! Hunters across Azeroth demand this! A Xuen mount would be nice as well.

My strategy:

Wild Jade Hatchling -> Call Lightning -> swap

-> Clockwork Gnome -> Build Turret -> swap

-> Wildhammer Gryphon Hatchling -> Flock -> Flock (you wont see it, fight is over and you won).

Whatever Xu-Fu does (lucky crit or not), he is dead after this! You cannot fail with this setup.

The pet you receive does not have the same moves available as the Celestial Tournament opponent, which has Moonfire and Feed. Whereas the pet has Moonfire or Feed.

I do notice that he sits alot and sometimes refuses to move even if you move away, only if you move so far away will he begin to move again. That is so cute! Picked him up as my first pet in the celestial tournament. My strategy to defeat him was quite simple: Started with pandaren water spirit, geyser, whirlpool, switch to chrominius, howl and surge of power. Altought it is quite risky because if he crits only one attack one of your pets will die with this strategy.

He's cute, he's cuddly, he's powerful, but does anyone else wish Moonfire and Vengeance would switch place?

easy fight, 1st pet ie. Tranquil Mechanical Yeti casts Call Lightning, switch to any flying pet with Flock. If Xu-FU is not dead already, then back to Yeti or 3rd pet and finish him with Ion Cannon.

One trick kitty, but one hell of a trick he can pull off. Thusly extremely predictable.

Got Xu the first week, and have not regreted having the adorable glowy fuzzball around once.

To beat him I used Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (upgraded to rare) with flyby, bombing run, and decoy.  Start with bombing run, and hit Xu with flyby till bombing run resolves.  At which point I cast decoy (to eat the feed) throw up another bombing run... promptly die, then finish off xu with any of the hard hitting mechanicals (Darkmoon tonk, Warbot, ect) using shock and awe, then finishing off Xu with an Ion cannon

This week my usual strategy ended up by failing due to an unlucky miss on Xu-Fu's part having the lightning storm end before some harder hitting pets got in the fight.  A couple more tries left me bereft of mechanicals.  He was my last one, so in despair, I tried Elfuego's strategy of wolf + spider.  Doesn't matter what my third was, because the spiderling swarm just murdered him.  GG P/P Twilight Spider!

I was not sure which pet to get first after the completion of the Celestial Tournament. After some consideration decided on Xu-Fu because of his abilities and damage output.

It was the right choice !

Without getting into details, while levelling against 24-25 mobs, he at level 13 single handled lvl 25 Golden Cuvet and later at lvl 20 killed all 3 opponents who had lvl 24 and his health was at 1140 (100%) !

Was using Prowl (dmg increase by 150% for the next attack), followed by Feed (dmg+heal)...

Absolute killer in a Moon group. Much prefer a stealthed claw or feed (amazing heal obv) and a Moonlight from another pet, but man oh man. Can be brutal. Probably grabbing ChiChi next.

After many grueling hours of leveling pets suitable for these epic celestial battles, I finally obtained this adorable pet thanks to the generous youtube videos posted by Elfuego.  Without him, I would have never thought to use some of the pets that finally got the job done.  Thank you SO much!

I used pretty much the same strategy for Zao and Xu-Fu. Start with a pet that has Call Lightning, use a Firefly to apply DoT abilities, then use any flying type pet with an ability like Flock (this third pet might change when I level up Lil Bling).

For Xu-Fu, I used the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry first because Xu-Fu's opening attack is Magic type. Use Call Lightning in the first turn, then switch to your Firefly to apply Confusing Sting and Glowing Toxin, then switch to your other bird and Flock.

Selected this little guy as my first Celestial Tournament pet, and I'm quite pleased with my choice.

For anyone without immediate access to the "spider burn" tactic (which is an awesome strategy), I found Decoy to be particularly effective against fending off his "feed" attack. If you can manage when he feeds, you can control the fight.

Fierce and loyal, Xu-Fu loves to hunt by moonlight. Once during a full moon, he killed and ate an entire Ironfur Great Bull, prompting a two day nap.
