Have they increased the spawn time on these? While camping the northern Loque'nahak spawn point, I just saw two spawn an hour apart. The first was poor B/B (the first B/B I've seen), the second poor H/H. I've seen about 4 or 5 at this particular spawn while camping Loque - I always make a point to ask around if someone needs it. Might be a good tactic to make friends with your local BM Hunter camping the ever elusive spirit beast. Good hunting!

Khadgar (EU) - low population, 09:00 UK time

Howling Fjord 68/67

Team: Terrible Turnip – Weakening Blow, Inspiring Song and Sunlight

Clockwork Gnome – Metal Fist, Repair and Build Turret

Enchanted Broom – Broom, Sweep and Clean-up (not used)

Start with TT Sunlight, spam WB, use IS if health low.

Use trap, and WB if req'd. Caught on 3rd attempt (poor 19). Sunlight then swap in Gnome. BT and spam MF. Took out 2x beasts with ease.

Good luck and hunting :)

Zul'Drak at coordinates 24 / 63

Was helping a guildy out in Grizzly Hills and decided to just swing by the spawn points to check it out, one was already chilling there. Poor quality, never used Haunt, it had Holy Ascension but didnt use that either. My server is a bit of a ghost zone in Northrend, so that probably lent a lot to even finding one.

I happened upon my Unborn Val'kyr one day in the Borean Tundra. I was out questing and noticed it was a pet I had never seen. I haven't seen one since. It was poor but I used a stone to upgrade it to rare. Also, it was a level 20 but was weakened to 19 by being caught.

I just camped spawn points off the beaten path like in Howling Fjord to get mine.  Park it, watch TV and cut my eyes to the monitor regularly. I would also suggest using the Unborn Val'kyr waypoints for TomTom addon set up position.  Don't "kill" the waypoint marker by going over it and zoom in a click or two on your minimap.  They all spawned right on the dot.  Happy Hunting.

I don't have an Unborn Val'kyr, but have battled many and have found out the best pets against them:

1. Aquatics - all Val'kyr attacks are weak against them

Suggested: Any breed of Mongoose (evasion tactic, Survival, speed for 1st attack - then again, a Val'kyr's highest S is 244)

2. Critters - for strong attacks against undead

Sug: Any breed of Rabbit (evasion tactic, survival move, Flurry)

3. Aq. w/ Crit. Att.

Sug: P/P Yellow-bellied Bullfrog (only Frog with P/P)

In two days two Valks just killed themselves fooling me. Why Bliz can't teach them to value the treasure of life? And my time?

!!! 10 minutes later: After this complaint I just got the third one! Alive! Thank you Bliz, you are learning fast

After 3 days of doing nothing but hunt for this I got a Poor B/B outside Stars Rest, next day got the battle stone to bump it up to rare. Used Silver Dragon addon to help w/ locating it. I'm a happy camper!

Those favored by the evil, fickle, & capricious WoW Gods should be grateful & humble. This creature is elusive & requires great patience & time to capture. It is NOT quick, fast, or easy. The luck is all deceptive & the reality is this is the first most difficult pet to capture. So please, for the rest of us mere mortals there is nothing wrong with you. It's the madness of the WoW Gods that decides who gets this pet. Be patient, take time & keep trying.

Quick question does the battle info tab by default say the best breed for this pet?

In the span of 2 days I have seen 5, fought 4 (1x Common, 2x Uncommon and 1x Rare) and tamed 2. I had one UV despawn right before my eyes at the west Crystalsong spawn point... I unfortunately was not able to tame the rare, because my trap failed enough times for UV to cast Haunt twice, and I didn't have a pet capable of pulling her back to the front -- she killed herself on the third Haunt. I found my first one in the Fjord just below Skorn as I was flying around and staying inside that zone, looking for rare Fjord Rats and others prevalent in that area.  Unfortunately, she killed herself, but the next day, I was still in the Fjord looking for more rare pets and she appeared in the right-most spawn point in that zone.  I was able to catch her this time and she was common quality before using a stone on her.

Decided to park an alt in Northrend to camp this pet. My druid came off the zeppelin in Borean Tundra, flew to the nearest known spawn point (Garrosh Landing) and poof, there she was. Uncommon, but there was an undead battlestone waiting for her. Shortest camp ever. Mostly used the Little fawn and hoof, not too much damage but just enough to sometimes have a chance at capture.

Found my girl (Val'kyr) just west of Amberpine Lodge across from the river.  She was sitting there looking lonely staring at an Imperial Eagle Chick, so I swooped down to confront her.  I took Clbulen's advice in his/her post and decided to use an aquatic pet but instead of using Surge i used Frog Kiss and Healing.  I used fastest frog possible, and spammed Frog Kiss.  I was able to turn her into a frog and this basically gave me two free turns to cage her.
