S/S breed is really good for PVE. In particular the Stratholme dungeon is full of undead boss bets. Rabbits and hares also work surprisingly well against magic pets due to the tick damage provided by stampede.

I grinded 3 S/S hares/rabbits for a PVP team, but it's in PVE these cuties really shine.

I don't know why rabbits only get 3 stars battle rating. For PvE i use them all the time and win against about anything. The dodges and burrow go well against most match ups.

As a note, this is the largest of all the bunnies by a decent margin. So if you want a big bunny, look no further.

Most likely my favorite of all my pets. She's won a lot of battles due to timing her avoidance against high burst skills, on top of her high speed flurry damage.

very underestimated pet...since many people play undead. this pet becomes deadly...it has speed and if you dodge and burrow..this pet will win you many battles...trust me,,,i rarely go into a pet battle without this silly little critter..The downsize of this pet is againat Beast pets, but hardly anyone uses them in pet battles, so why worry. This is a no brainer, because so many combatants use undead. i always time the undead pet that is attacking me with a burrow..it works.reallly well

@Gwengalad

I think the brown & white skin is no more because I also caught mine as that skin (in 2013) and it now only summons as white. I've not seen any brown ones in the wild as of late either. Anyone else know for sure?

Also, the alpine hare is noticeably bigger than all the other rabbit/hare pets :D

Is "brown and white" skin still available?

It's a rabbit.

Sure, it might say 'hare' - but the truth is, this is a rabbit.

A very average, very normal rabbit with very normal, very average rabbit abilities.

Flying around Winterspring looking for the new cub and came across something different. Mini map showed an Alpine Hare. Swooped down to fight it, only when I went to fight it the hare wasn't a hare, it was a sheep. So I fought it, captured it, then checked my pets page. Sure enough, the image when I clicked on it was a sheep. Unfortunately when summoned it's still a hare. It's like an Esquilax, only it's a sheep with the head of a hare, and the body of a hare.

The alpine hare can burrow into the permafrost and hibernate for weeks or even months.
