Notes:
This pet is chosen among three vanity pets as a reward after completing a chain of Children's Week quests that begin in Outland. These quests may be accessed by characters level 60+. See the Guide to Children's Week for a detailed walkthrough of this chain. Other rewards for the final quest include Peanut and Willy. Collecting all three pets on the same character is possible (over the course of three years) since the quests are repeatable each year.

This pet is also available as a FigurePets collectible (series 2).

Breanni Says:

Who wouldn't love this absolutely adorable newly-hatched hawkstrider? While he is one of the cutest pets you'll find, he does have a serious problem. Unfortunately, little Egbert here is a crack baby. Sure, he's got a cracked shell, but that's not what I mean. No, Eggbert tends to zip around like a coked-up little Dodo, frantically seeking his next fix.

The best little ADD chicken for the resourcefull rogue. Have that pet out with you and sneak into an enemy city, watch the low levels (and high levels) follow the pet around when he sprints away thinking he's with you!

This is my favorite pet. So much so that at one point my BE Hunter had him, a matching mount, and even a pet all the same colors. I love scaring the hell outta my groupmates when he runs up to a boss and they think hes gonna pull him.

This little guy is one of my favorite pets in the game. I use him in PvP arena matches. With all the chaos, Egbert serves as an extra diversion that click casters accidentally target instead of me. Those few seconds of distraction is often a difference between a win and a loss. Plus, he's great eye candy while you're waiting for the match to start ;-).

No matter how many times you see this little crack baby sprint right at a boss when his ADD kicks in, sooner or later it will give you a near-heart attack for fear of aggro.

One of three pets - the others are Peanut and Willy - for the Veteran Nanny achievement.

It seems that whenever Egbert starts running around, he runs in the same rate his master is able too.

For example, If I can walk in 100% speed, Egbert will run around at 100% speed too.
If I have a debuff that reduces my speed by 50%, Egbert will run with -50% speed too.
If I'm mounted, and I can go at 200% speed, so will Egbert.

And so on.

I can't tell if it's cute or terrifying. Maybe both. It IS big enough to eat a gnome.
