This little piece of summer smells of warm evenings and lightning storms. If you look closely, you might be able to make out a face.

After farming daily since the Midsummer Festival started and visiting a lot of Honor and Desecrate fires, I finally got the little guy (thing). Now I don't know what to spend the rest of my blossoms on.

With 3.3, the pet appears to have been given its origianal, full red coloration back.
It is no longer a red wisp with a blue glow, it is now completley red except for the small, swirling specs that float around it.

When combined with the hallowed wand wisp transformation, its even better to have the pet leash to link you!

The coloration of this pet APPEARS to be seasonal/temperature related. During summer it was red almost everwhere I took it. As it got closer to winter it is more or less regular blue wisp color everywhere.

I got this pet with my Troll Mage, who started out the Midsummer Fire Festival at level 16. Thank whatever gods Trolls believe in that Mages learn blink fairly early on - I wouldn't have been able to *get* all the flowers necessary for this pet without it.

It was well worth it though, even trying to sneak through Ally areas with a little Troll noob. I had my Spirit of Summer following me around for a month straight afterwards.

Using this pet while stealthed will not break the stealth spell.

My Night Elf Hunter likes to use this guy to keep up her hygiene instead of wisps. You just never know where a wisp has been! At least she know where she keeps this guy ^.-

Pet goes Great with Hallowed Wand - Wisp
(obtained via Hallow's End)

Also used to have only a red glow wherever you went, now, changes its tint, depending on location.

Two stories, try to be short... on server in the first year this pet was very rare since not many did the dungeon quest. I used to stealth around with this pet on follow all the time, since it was so rare, noobs would run away from it fearing it will agro and kill them.

One time had someone ask me where I got it, told them it was like the westfall chicken... poke a Darn Wisp until it got angry. 15 minutes later on general chat "I keep poking and nothing happens." :P

So this what the Spirit of Summer looks like… Funny — I always thought the spirit of summer looked like voluptuous lifeguards sitting oceanside with dark glasses and killer tans. Oh no, wait... I'm thinking of the Spirit of Baywatch! My bad...
