The Darkmoon Rabbit mob spawns in a cave on the Darkmoon Island, which is accessible only when the Darkmoon Faire is open. This mob is an elite raid boss that has roughly 174,454,800 health. Players will receive the achievement That Rabbit's Dynamite! after defeating the rabbit.
The Darkmoon Rabbit is a reference to the Rabbit of Caerbannog in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Ended up joining a raid for it and it disbanded because the guy wouldnt take it off master loot. So after that headache formed another group. Killed teh bunny and my hubby actually rolled and got it. I thought he was gonna sell it but he gave it to me <3 so YAY I HAVE MUH BUNNY!
Can anyone advise how many level 90s are needed to take this one down?
Just got lucky and got this after I join a raid to kill him, rolled a 96 - was very lucky as it sells for 90K on my server - despite being worth that I learned it instead of selling it.
I paid 35K for mine after obtaining a loan from my husband. I am on one of those servers where I will probably never see a raid for this rabbit so saving up gold for it is really the way to go. Now time to go do some dailies to pay off my debt!
Randomly ended up DPSing for a raid group to kill him - with about 20 other pepople. The fight was quite quick given that everyone was at least 85 but most were at max. Only rolled a 26, winner rolled a 96. Such is my luck. :/

I won mine through a guild raid and I'm probably one of the biggest pet collectors in my guild, so it was poetic.
I brought mine from AH. I honestly can make 30k much faster than have a chance of putting a raid together and winning the roll. I wish more than 1 would drop but it is what it is.
I named mine 'Super Villain" and love it. Totally worth it. Love the blood around the mouth detail.

Guild just finished this mini raid. My boyfriend won the roll, currently in negotions for the rabbit lol. Curious to see how he is as a battle pet.
Saw this little guz at around 4am andstarted making a group and at 6:40am we killed finalz! Didnt win the roll but the person who does sold it to me for only 4.8k! Im poor but i got this bunny and im extremely happy!!
I'm so pumped I just won my own. I was pretty dejected after losing out on my last attempt with a 93 roll and the winner rolled a 94. This time I won with only an 84 roll, go figure. So awesome to finally have him :)

Thanks for the down-vote. I power-leveled him, and even at 13 he was able to go up against lvl 23 roaches. Once his speed is comparable to the opponent, use Dodge, and keep the DoT up :)

Just perchased for 50k. Sadly I have not seen anyone else set up raids for the boss, so this was my only option at this time.
(Rolled a 100 for this little cutie... there goes my luck for the year... *prepares to take a foot*)
Trying really hard to like this guy for pet battles, seeing how silly rare he is, I got the 4/14 pet breed, so he's a mix of great speed and decent health, which is good because he has an insane amount of speed to begin with... I open with the Dodge ability, lead into a Huge, Sharp Teeth and follow up with Burrow once Dodge wears off, so far it's useful as he's able to a mitigate a lot of damage.
For those who don't realize it, this pet comes in multiple breeds. I didn't bother to check...just assumed all were the same. Anyway, might be important for those who want the best possible breed, which is 5/15 in this case. (I'm assuming most think 4/14, 5/15, 6/16 are the best due to point distribution)
I decided to spend some gold ang buy this little bugger, being a huge Monty Pythons fan - I just couldn't resist. I just wish there was more to this pet, some iddle animation that makes him jump on other players(think Nuts the squirrel)throats, with a small blood splatter effect or something, or perhaps an updated model. Ah well, Customer Support > Submit Suggestion, perhaps if enough people find this a good idea and send it to Blizzard..
Guild asked who wanted to come ill and I instantly said INV! Only about 20 of us there, took under 7mins and best of all.... I WON with a 100.... cant win gear but I can win pets and mounts! Im ok with that.
I was so excited when i rolled a 99 and won him! So cute! Make sure you keep the boss in the cave so that he doesn't reset.
Had a lucky week, found him on the AH for a very reasonable 75K, snapped him up immediately, so can head off for the achievement at a later date with no worries about the roll after. Then found Porcupette on the AH for 150gd yesterday.
Love this little guy though, trying to think up a fun yet clever name for him... Rabbit Stew, The Beast or Caerbannog are current pack leaders. Oddly Dave keeps coming to mind as well... but I will ponder a little more. :D
