This pet will always be learned as uncommon (under the Miscellaneous --> Companion Pets tab of the auction house, this pet reads with blue text to imply that it's a rare though it's not, whereas under the Battle Pets tab, it is listed correctly as uncommon).  To make it a rare, you'll need a battle-stone.

 

 

Though this pet is not at the top of my uncommon pet list to recieve a battle-stone upgrade, it's on there none the less; love using this guy in my pet battles.

note: shows up in AH when created as a rare - but once you learn it, it becomes uncommon - i tested it by learning 3 rares all 3 when looked up were uncommon - let me know if anyone actually learns this as a rare and it stays as a rare

I am going to level my Goblin Engineer just to get this pet and the feeling of accomplishment of having crafted the destroyer myself. Once I am done grinding for the Sea Turtle on my main that is. Soon I hope...

 

Okay, got both the Destroyer and the Sea Turtle. Next is the Ghost Iron Dragonling. :))

As of patch 4.0.6 the Electrified Ether recipe (2 Volatile Air) now creates 2 to 3 Electrified Ether instead of 1.

This was one of my Christmas gifts from my warrior/engineer boyfriend. He, too, is an avid pet collector and he knew I'd love this. I'd only seen the engineering rabbit at that point and mentioned I wanted one.

Christmas day? I open my in-game mail box and the "squee" could be heard around the block. I love my Personal World Destroyer! I call him my baby Fel Reaver so be afraid. Be very afraid.

Quick reference for those gathering mats for engineers to make:

1. No more than 28 Obsidium Ore (10 bars, 8 bolts)
2. 16 Volatile Air (engineer will change into 8 Electrified Ethers)

This is the only pet capable of destroying my personal world. And my personal world is filled with vanity pets, and they don't take kindly to having their surroundings destroyed. Perhaps I'll let you play with Lil' XT, or rather I'll let Lil' XT play with you! Muwahahahaha!
