Blighthawk and Jademist Dancer, which breed is best?

Post by Karmagheden » September 5th, 2014, 5:15 am

Just looking for some input.

h/p or p/s Blighthawk

s/s or p/s Jademist Dancer

I was thinking s/s for dancer because speed at that level, from my experience, seems to win over dps most often. Figured h/p for blighthawk because the extra hp may give it an extra turn, then again, 273 speed looks better than 244.

Thoughts?

As for the dancer I prefer the speed. The 317 speed makes it faster than a lot of pets and the big hits it does for two rounds when it has the crit buff usually takes a flyers speed away in one hit.
Love how this pet does against crows or any nocturnal strike pet.

As for the blight hawk that is a tougher one.
The one good thing about being slower is it is one wants for an undead pet.
The extra undead turn if slower can be the difference to winning or losing a battle I know for myself it has been.

Thing is that the S/S Jademist Dancer caps out at an odd level of speed of 317, which is below the standard 325 of many S/S pets. And against fliers? Your 'high' speed is worthless anyways.

And the P/S or H/S dancer hits 281 speed, which also is below the standard P/S speed of 289.

The B/B dancer hits 268 speed, which is below the standard B/B speed of 276.

Personally I would say the P/S dancer. You are not going to win any speed contests, but it has the highest amount of power for all the breeds. Which is 305.

I also prefer the S/S dancer because that speed can be useful. Obviously its slower than 325's, but outside of DAH's I don't see a ton of 325 pets in my meta at least, and I usually have a better option to face a DAH than the dancer anyway. I'd rather have the speed advantage over slower pets, as that gets you the best chance to get your buffed steam vents off. Yes, its slower than birds (if they have their speed advantage still up by the time your dancer faces them, the dancer is generally not something I start with, and depending on the match-up it may be the 3rd pet that I've brought out ) but it also only takes one buffed attack to knock that speed advantage away.

What does the extra power give you? Its usually wasted if you are getting off two attacks, as two buffed steam vents will destroy a lot of pets. If you are only able to get off one attack before you die or have to switch out before you die, then that power would help, but I find the speed advantage more useful and more commonly helpful to me rather than the cases where I only got 1 attack in.

For the Blighthawk, I'd go with H/P. Speed doesn't really matter that much, and P/S isn't that fast anyway, so the extra health is best. I have a P/S because that's what I ended up with, and it works, but I'd rather have the H/P.

I prefer H/S for the dancer myself, as it does need two rounds of setup before it can get its mega hits off (as you need to buff with acid rain and rain dance first), so the extra health makes it more likely it survives that long, and the speed is still good enough to be faster than any non-speed breed pets people use, since usually people go all or nothing for speed, and even the s/s breed of this pet is slower than regular s/s pets anyway.

H/H and P/S Blighthawk. P/S Blighthawk will generally be better than all other breeds, although some teams prefer H/H.

I quite like the S/S Jademist Dancer. The differences between these breeds are not as big (in my opinion) compared to the Blighthawk. I would say that the best breed depends on the speed/move set of your other 2 pets.

If you are planning in combining these 2 pets I would go for H/H Blighthawk (possibly H/P) and H/S or S/S Jademist Dancer. The Speed of the Jademist Dancer depends on the third pet that you plan to use. You swap a lot in this team and the additional health gives you a buffer.

due to the odd speed stats of jademist dancer, and the role it has as a heavy hitter, not stunner or dodger, I personally prefer p/s, as it hits like a truck

I ended up going with H/P Blighthawk and S/S Jademist Dancer.

If I was going to use them separately, I might go with P/S Blighthawk and H/S Jademist Dancer.

Thanks for all your input, it helped a lot.
