The same people that spam "Tuskarr, Rocket Chicken, Dragon Kite, Spectral Tiger, Soul Trader 100k for all" on my server started spamming Bananas and Hippo Hatchlings today.
Anyone else?

Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
They're frequently on our AH ranging between (rarely) 25k to (outrageously) 80k or more. That I don't find odd. These were being spammed specifically by two of people that are selling bundles of TCGs for between 85 and 120k depending on time of day.
I (like some others) were thinking these and the small TCGs would be decent investments but if they're going to be the next duping wave I think I may change my mind before getting started.
I was just curious to see if anyone else had noticed the "dupers" "farmers" "spammers" selling these now as well.

Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
Bananas got hit in the Rocket Chicken/Tuskarr Kite wave a little while ago, when UJ was still running and we could verify the spike in AH supply. Here's some old threads on it:

I haven't seen anything odd with Hippo yet, but that doesn't mean much.

Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
A bit unrelated, but I saw someone yesterday advertising a level 25 Ethereal Soul-Trader for "12k or swap for a lvl 1 EST." Seems to be a blatant attempt to "launder" the pet - would I be right in that assumption?
Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
Definitely sounds like laundering. Only other alternative for the trade would be that he's just a super helpful sort of guy that wants to be nice to others. There don't seem to be many of these around.
Long as they can complicate the chain of ownership, takes longer to get caught and suspended.

Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
Yea, I sort of "called him out" by asking him, over trade chat, what he would gain from such a trade. He stopped barking and logged off pretty sharpish.
Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
Maybe they bought a lvl 25 and then discovered they couldn't learn it (since they have no other lvl 25s). That restriction isn't documented anywhere ingame until you actually try to learn the high level pet and get an error.
This seems highly speculative. Putting a record of an attempted transaction in trade chat logs seems like it would lead to getting caught sooner rather than later. And that's assuming that laundering is actually a thing that people do.Ranok wrote:Long as they can complicate the chain of ownership, takes longer to get caught and suspended.
Re: Bananas/HippoHatch
Nobody at Blizz is going to go through tens of thousands of Trade Chat comments to try to track down a malefactor. Jeez, just listening to a couple of dozen will tend to fry a sentient being's mind. After a while you have to be thinking "are some of the people playing this game really that stupid ?"
