Magic Pet Mirror udpates

Post by Quintessence » May 4th, 2016, 8:08 pm

Magic Pet Mirror might be getting a big improvement in Legion - it persists through actions! (Currently the costume buff disappears when you try to do ANYTHING other than emote.)

Summon a different pet? No problem. Log out, log back in? The costume is still there! Cast (non-aggressive) spells? Do it while looking like a pet!

More testing needs to be done since some spells will still remove the costume while other abilities won't. Stealth and Levitate are ok, but Psychic Scream will cause the buff to disappear.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm ecstatic for this change. So much fun to be had! :)

Sounds great!

I guess that mounting up switches a character back without losing the buff, like it goes with many current transformations?

Does "non-aggressive" mean that healing abilities or even revivals are fine aswell as long as the performer is out of combat?
(AoE attacks probably still not recommended because of all these critters wandering around… Maybe that's why the PS doesn't want to work.)

If Meditation Manual: Zen Flight isn't classified as a mount,
that + any flying bird = druid 2.0 (bonus points if performed by a dwarf or a gnome)

Or imagine a Restless Shadeling/Stinkrot/Twilight Fiendling casting a Death Gate. :)

Correct. You won't lose the buff if you mount up. Hooray :D

Honestly, I'm not sure what qualifies as "non-aggressive". Holy Nova works with the costume so long as you don't enter combat by hitting a target with it.

Perhaps Psychic Scream is an oversight, and it should work as well as long as you don't hit any targets? I'm not sure.

I wish I could test this! Unfortunately I have no idea how to obtain/learn Zen Flight in Legion. Glyphs are gone, and I'm not entirely sure how the abilities/effects tied to them will work.

Ah, the blog. :) Wanted to leave a comment, but captcha doesn't work with my mobile browser. :P
I don't adore the Doge but that Zen Pilgrimage wins a Scooby Snack :)
It must have been hard to feign death as an ooze pet, for example. Unless a hunter is, in fact, Forsaken.
I thought that you can retain the costume when you log out ever in the live? :) But maybe it applies to the cities/garrison only, where you don't have to wait.

Any new tests?

A Displacer Beast, for example. A Lurking Owl Kitten would be a perfect quadrupedal form for my aspiring Balance Druid.

EDIT: Thanks!

Tested it and you retain the pet costume when you use Displacer Beast. :D
