Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Avoided the forums until now because I was busy and wanted a chance to see then changes and form opinions and new teams on my own before being influenced by others. I didn't really spend enough time working on the tournament before finishing it for the week, so there's surely a lot of fine tuning an...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Sludgy was changed from Critter to Magic. So not only does Haywire not hit him as hard as it used to, the damage it does when supercharged is also getting capped and reduced by the Magic racial.Mantrhax wrote:Facing Thundering Spirit it looks like waywire isnt working as intended anymore .

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I'm a bit skeptical of basing strats too heavily on Mana Surge; I've been burned by its miss chance too many times in the past ...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I'm not sure if this would be the right place for it, but the newest ptr mentioned that they have moved ability slots for the Darkmoon Zep and the Mech Dragonling. Namely, they've placed Decoy/Explode on the 3rd tier, which will make them much less useful for Jeremy Feasel/Mo'ruk. Time to work on s...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
If you wanted to be actually useful with regards to helping people understand the numbers in relation to the letters, writing up a guide the directly correlate the #s TO THE LETTERS would be helpful. Then make it a sticky. Or, you could simply mouse over the Guides dropdown in the bar along the top...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
My personal recomendation: sadly, the addon breed ID uses letters as default; change this to showing numbers, and everything becomes clear :) Have to disagree with you Cab. The problem with the numbers is that they are merely a label and convey no actual information. You have to memorize what stats...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I also don't enjoy fighting the Whispering Pandaren Spirit. I would like to replace the Anubisath Idol so if anyone is out there using a different strategy let me know. use this one Double Chrominius If a person only has one Chrominius pet, then they can use Proto-Drake Whelp + Chrominius . If they...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Here's an alternate strat for Wastewalker Shu that is very reliable for people who dislike RNG. A Red Cricket can solo this fight and is the heart of this strategy. It can use Cocoon Strike to block all Whirlpool damage, has a massive (over 500) point self heal, and Rupture will do less damage and c...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Hmm. I like it, but I need to see if I can adapt it to a different fast mech--my BCRB is P/S. There aren't lots of fast mechanicals, so you really should consider purchasing some more until you get an S/S version and then stoning it if you can. I'm not aware of any other mechanical pet that can mat...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Payne is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too RNG dependent. One miss with a missile or the strider decides to hold off off on its big attack until your rabbit burrows and it's gacked. Check out my strat of S/S Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot and Rabbit that was described by Kring as "more then aw...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I fully expect to be ignored again since I assume most people already have a team that works for them by now and my pride won't be hurt this time. Ignored and unnoticed are not the same thing ... :) And you should have some pride slash want people to notice this; any strat which can kill (at least ...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
by the way, there are lots of mentions of the cottontail rabbit (S/S). does it have to be a cottontail, or can it be any S/S rabbit/hare/cottontail? last i checked, all stats are exactly the same. All rabbits are the same but the cottontail which trades speed for power. Yeah, its just an optimizati...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Wastewalker Shu team is way, way too RNG for me. The Red Cricket strat works 100%. Speaking of the Red Cricket, I just made an improvement to that strat by replacing the Darkmoon Tonk with Tranquil Mecha...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I've finally created a Major Payne team, and strategy, that I'm happy with: Grasslands Cottontail (S/S) and Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot (S/S). It can be used with a level 1 carry pet or sped up by a few rounds if the carry pet can take one Rampage hit from Grizzle. The strategy is reliably getting me ...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I just burned a fair number of bandages testing the Proto-Drake Whelp and Chrominius team, taking it to the point where a Surge of Power would kill the Air Spirit and then forfeiting and running it again. The fastest kills took 15 rounds; the median looks to be 17 rounds. There were a couple of wipe...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Can't get this Whispering team to work. Anubisath Idol just can't hold agains Dusty, Deflecting all the Dust attacks + Dusty's cocoons, leaves with only a few chances to attack. On top of that, Anub's crush misses way too much. Changing to Stonekin improved the chances of hitting with Crush, but yo...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
Against a Critter, Snap will do 625 dmg ... against Ashtail, you are not guaranted to attack first with the Crane, because Ashtail has the Quick-Attack ability That was base? Heh, that thing is a beast. I really, really need to go farm one up. One negative I noticed today was that Kali's Arcane Exp...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Wouldn't the Scourged Whelping {8} be better? its the P/S one, sure you lose health, but with it having a stronger power then other breed, it would kill his pets faster. I have not tested it, as I only have a P/S one that is rare, and was wondering Nope, I only had a P/S as well and when I tried it...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
I don't really like this as it fails about once out of three times for me. Is there a way to see the history of this guide? I'd like to know what the strategie before this one was. Or was it Idol and Proto-Whelp? The problem is that the Idol takes to much damage from the first pet and snarly is dow...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
- New team for Thundering Pandaren Spirit (23 rounds now instead of 25 rounds with the previous team) My first reaction seeing that you're using a death swap on Darnak is a concern that the sentry could die to Burrow leading to the Rabbit swapping in and taking a Stone Rush to the face and dying fr...
