Re: Theme-based teams!
I wanted to do a Christmas themed team but the holiday pets are all uncommons so you put yourself in a hole out of the gate with them. But not too much of one; I've leveled my Tiny Snowman and against most pets he does fine, against mechanicals he's outstanding (but then, most elementals are). So i...

IMO, if you want "sandstorm", Pebble's the way to go. Great tank.

Re: Raising pet lvl
No, it's been checked out fairly thoroughly. There's a multiplier for the quality of the pet (preset with pets like the tonk that only come in one quality), sometimes a little leeway in specs (look at the Snow Cub, for example; three spec "settings"), but it doesn't matter if you get a level-1 skunk...

Re: Eastern Kingdoms Safari...
This is a bug they're aware of and say will be fixed in the user interface in 5.1; there are a handful of pets (wharf rat, crimson moth, feverbite hatchling, devouring maggot, etc.) that seem to not show up semi-randomly in the achievement progress. As noted above, they ARE actually being counted, t...

And CRZ just makes it worse. I have flown into the Argent Crusade area and seen 7 of them as I flew over the valley, but when I landed they mysteriously vanished... soooo aggravating.

It's current max health, which is one reason why pets that have abilities that increase max health can be so useful.Talmar wrote: So when Explode says "40% of the users total health" is that current health or max health?

Re: Pet Tamer Quests and Info
Do you have the "Eastern Kingdoms" achievement? As they made it either/or for "Taming Azeroth", it may be that once you have one it won't recognize the other.

When I'm looking up a pet I'm usually interested in both sets of information, so either way suits.

Re: Pet Tamer Quests question
The other thing to remember is that it's set so that you don't have to do both Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor -- one or the other is sufficient for the achievement (Taming Azeroth). But for completeness sake, yes, you'd need a Horde character for Kalimdor and an Alliance for Eastern Kingdoms.

Re: Pets without primaries
I've noticed the Emperor Crab in particular (because it's an aquatic I like); on beta they were plentiful, sharing the spawn area with the Rapana Whelks; now it seems you can only find 'em as secondaries. Well, let's see if the fix works...

Re: What are the best stats?
High speed has one drawback - many of the dragonkin have a "Tail Swipe" attack that does significantly more damage when they go last. Fighting flying snacks with my Crimson Whelpling is my favorite way of leveling my pets now -- the level 23-25 wild flying pets almost always have higher speed, so I ...

This has been a bug through the beta too. I've never seen it work, and one of the first pets I leveled was the Pet Bombling.

I think that's it exactly - I have learned to dismiss my Water Elemental because mobs aggro on it, and that pulls me out of pet combat.Kingdms wrote: Perhaps the mob is not attacking you, it's noticing your demon and that's cancelling your pet battle.

Re: Dragonkin pet to level
I like the Crimson Whelpling; yes, the heal is situational, but when your opponent whacks you with their big attack and you undo 1/2 the damage plus its base, it's very nice. I don't use "Deep Breath" anymore; while it's great when it hits, it just misses too much (and how does it miss, anyway?). Ta...

Re: Your favourite undead
My first 25 undead was my Lost of Lordaeron (rare); it starts really squishy, but as you level it (and especially after you get Absorb at 10) it becomes more viable, and Curse of Doom is useful. Still unfortunately vulnerable to the masses of critters swarming the world, though it can manage to surv...

Darkmoon Zeppelin is my favorite, but the Clockwork Gnome is very good too (if you've worked on archaeology enough to get it). Using Missile, Decoy, and Bombing Run it can usually take out any beast or non-elemental without taking too much damage. Elementals (that use elemental-type attacks) just hi...

Re: Need Some Help Levelling
I've been leveling my Water Waveling in Deepholme, because the Tidal Wave ability is strong vs. elementals, hits the whole opposite team, and there are usually at least two elemental pets in any group there (Deepholme, that is). It's not uncommon for it to take out the whole set of opponents by itse...

I've had good luck with my Darkmoon Zeppelin; using just Decoy and Missile, even the trainers' beast pets go down usually in 4-6 turns without the zep taking too much damage.

Re: Daily Quest Confusion
You're not confused; at least, we don't seem to know what "normal" is yet because it still doesn't seem to be working right. As far as I know, only a GM daily will give you a bag, the others all just give gold (as you noticed).
