Re: Dusty (whispering pandaren spirit battle)
i use the panda air spirit to level pets. nexus whelp/emerald proto whelp/<leveling pet>. You can go with just fodder pet => carry pet => emerald proto-whelp. Start with a random level 1 pet you don't care about (or a pet you plan to level up later), then swap to the carry pet after the first pet g...

There are quite a few similar "blocking" effects: [ability]Ice Barrier[/ability], [ability]Beaver Dam[/ability], [ability]Illusionary Barrier[/ability], and [ability]Prismatic Barrier[/ability]. Just be careful against enemies that hit multiple times per round. Also worth noting is the [pet]Death Ad...

Re: Battle Stones
Got a few today (one magic and one beast, I think). My luck with them has been rather poor the past week, but that could just be because I haven't done a lot of wild battling. The trainers alone are a far too small sample size to really say much.

Re: Dusty (whispering pandaren spirit battle)
Anyone have some theories as to why Blizz originally made some of these pets families to be so counter intuitive. Why was a Moth anything other than Flying and why was a Ooze a Critter instead of Magic? I always assumed it was intentional just to mix things up. It made the trainer battles more inte...

OpenRaid ([url=http://openraid.eu]EU[/url], [url=http://openraid.us]US[/url]) is also great for finding cross-realm groups. There's normally at least one ToT group forming any time of day.Derezzed wrote:Allow me to recommend the add-on [url=http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/oqueue]oQueue[/url].

Re: How important is breed?
It depends on what pet you're using and what pet you're fighting. Abilities like [ability]Dodge[/ability] generally favor high speeds as you get two rounds of dodging if you're faster than the enemy, but the definition of "high speed" depends on what you're fighting. If your intended enemy is very s...

Re: Moon Moon
Is it possible that the sooner you loot her, the better your odds of getting Moon Moon? Nope. Loot is generally decided when a mob spawns, though in the case of personal loot it's when the mob dies. What you do between the mob dying and you looting it has no effect on anything, because exactly what...

If you don't feel like making an alt, it should be possible to just group up with someone from a low pop realm and camp it that way. I'm not sure how much CRZ messes up this strategy, but at least it seems to work for some things.

Re: celestial tournament and hard-to-get pets
Chrominius is easy enough to get. A few thousand gold in the auction house and he's yours. He should be at the top of your list of pets to get, so it's not unreasonable to expect that people have that pet. Most Chrominius strategies will work with any pet that has [ability]Howl[/ability], though. Si...

Re: Moon Moon - Which breed?
Probably P/P for PvE. Not sure if he's going to prove all that useful in PvP. He only comes in P/P, P/S, and S/S, though, so all have some kind of use. I just stuck with what I got the first time around (S/S), as farming Moonfang for a specific breed isn't realistic on a low pop server and I can't b...

Re: The "Bear" essentials on low level leveling
The only trouble you'll have is with pets that can damage the back row pets, but it works pretty well if you don't have a bear. You're going to have trouble with back row damage either way, unless it's minor enough that a sandstorm can negate it. There's not really any good way around it other than...

Carry pet + [pet]Fel Flame[/pet] (211) + [pet]Darkmoon Tonk[/pet] (122) works okay, though the eye can be a bit annoying if your carry pet is too low level. The elemental has attacks that are strong against both the eye and the enemy tonk, and takes reduced damage from the latter. It's going to get ...

[pet]Emerald Proto-Whelp[/pet] because it murders fliers, and pretty much everything else too. [ability]Emerald Presence[/ability] makes it effectively immune to most variants of Stampede and most damage over time effects. Possibly the single most OP pet in the game right now. [pet]Darkmoon Tank[/p...

Re: Grinding for Rare Crabs is Making Me Crabby
Someone needs to explain to Blizz that frustration caused by such low drop rates on hourly spawned pets and even worse on mobs that hundreds must be killed to make a rare spawn, that also has a low drop rate is not what pet collectors consider fun and such things are one of the reasons they continu...

I guess the point is that it's not rare in the Val'kyr sense, but it has a limited number of spawns in relation to the number of people who are farming for a rare one. The fact that it is "rare" only seems to make even more people want a rare quality one, just for the hell of it. If (like me) you're...

Zao is probably the most unique of the four, since it's a beast with [ability]Wish[/ability]. Chi-Chi isn't really all that special and Xu-Fu is just another DPS beast, while Yu'la doesn't really have any unique moves ([pet]Harmonious Porcupette[/pet] also comes with [ability]Celestial Blessing[/abi...

Re: Nishi buffed in 5.4?
I've gotten into the habit of saving carry pets with non-sunny weather effects for Nishi. While it's perfectly possible to beat him during sunshine, it's much faster, easier and more reliable in any other weather. There's bound to always be some pet you want to level that has a weather spell, so jus...

Re: Battle-Stones - next expansion.
Epic stones would be the kind of thing that would make people simply quit pet battles. An increased level cap could work. There's a huge difference between doing a few battles with each of your pets to get them to level 30 (or whatever) and grinding stones to upgrade them all. I can get several pets...

Re: An Idea to petition Blizzard...?
First off, the Argent Gruntling and the Squire are already children, and considered non-combat "pets". Though we could simply dub them "companions" if that sounds better. Being that Blizz has already given us non-combat children companions, they don't seem to see an issue. To be fair, they're squir...
