Re: Swapping is Boring
I don't agree that it is boring. I think it adds an element of strategy that can make it interesting. Exactly this. But there's only one team which can afford the high cost of swapping: Raindance. Raindance is an awesome team because of the interaction between the pets. I would like to see a lot mo...

Re: Swapping is Boring
I don't agree that it is boring. I think it adds an element of strategy that can make it interesting. Do you swap to try to entice them to bring in a different pet, do you swap to interrupt a set up move, do you swap to maximize your pets against theirs, etc. When you face the teams over and over an...

Re: Brewfest!
On a personal note though, I think this has to be my least favourite world event. Ram riding is frustrating for me (and they made it more so when they did away with the "reins" item so you have to constantly mouse click the on-screen button) Bind a key to the "Extra Action Button 1" to avoid the mo...

Re: Aki the Chosen
I always use the team in the Battle Guide from this site - Zandalari Kneebiter, Clockwork Gnome, and if I'm leveling something, a carry pet, otherwise, a random selection. It works perfectly.

Re: Fleeing in PvP pet battles
I've gotta say though, I've been the beneficiary of fleers. My last 15 or so "wins" for the 250 achievement were by some poor person who kept fleeing from me. I was a bit disappointed though, as they never once tried their skill and tried to fight, so I never knew if I would have won against that p...

Re: WoD ... pet pvp and magic pets plea
Not just with magic pets, but I'd like to see some way to compete with a greater variety of pets. I see the same handful of pets over and over. I'm just as bad, I have 710 pets (with duplicates) and I generally use 3-6 of them. Something like battles with teams randomly generated from your pets migh...

Re: Fleeing in PvP pet battles
Up against another player, when do you flee? I pretty much never flee. The few exceptions are generally RL-prompted. My personal reasoning is that: 1) I like pet battles, so I like doing them even when the odds look bad. 2) Fleeing towards the end doesn't really save a lot of time...and I might get...

Re: Unborn Val'kyr vs Unborn Val'kyr
It depends on the breed(s) of the pets you both have. If you both have the same breed they will be the same speed and things get a little funny because the game randomly rolls every turn to see who goes first so you never know if you'll go first or not. This is important because if you both try to ...

Re: Sunflower team?
Yea, I've tried this team (sort of, BA-SS-Crawdad) and while it wasn't bad, aside from the games taking an hour, it gets wrecked by too many "typical" teams out there. Yeah, you'll get some default wins from people who don't want to take the time to beat your team (like me :)), but if you don't car...

Re: Questions, mostly regarding battle-stones and breeds.
As far as the best breed discussion goes the answer is generally, it depends. This is very true. There are three things that factor in pvp battles - match up, strategy, and breed, in that order. If you just don't match up well against your opponent, chances are you will lose. For instance, you are ...

Re: Worth of the Crawling Claw?
In my experience, the hyacinth is a tough pet to sell. I see it up for auction from 7 to 15k. The Claw can sell on any realm. On 4 or 5 of the busiest realms it will move for 10-12k. The best price I have ever seen on one was 8k. I found it extremely tough to sell a hyacinth macaw. I tried on and o...

My guess would be junk, mostly since each premium coin or object gets replaced with each expansion.

Re: You know what I hate?
I think I have run into the same team doing the same thing. But the worst team I ever ran into was three undead that never attacked whole fight. It took forever to kill them all with their stupid undead back to life turn and all I used to run into someone running three fossilized hatchlings that I ...

Re: rare tcg pets down to 15k
I think this is the most likely reason. Pre-merge, I rarely saw Viscous Horrors on one server, and if there were any, they were 70-100K. Immediately post-merge, there were seven, from 40-70K.Mehetabel wrote: I put it down to the fact that we have recently server merged so the AH is more competitive.

Re: Pet Leveling Is So Daunting
I did little name filter games, like leveled everything with the word "pup" or "whelp". Or all the squirrels or all the rabbits. I also did it in steps, like everything to 15, then everything to 20, etc. Doing it in small groups made it less daunting. I used both trainers and wild battles. For examp...

Re: I would have liked to have seen their face
I think its a bug introduced at some point, as it did use to work without requiring the original pet to be up and active. But it sounds like the ability is going to be changed. Then nerfed. Then bugged again....

Re: Are you a ... stealer?!?!1?!?one?!?!
The guides are great for trainers where their moves are pretty much scripted, but where pvp is concerned, learning from good opponents is the best way to go. Absolutely you should borrow ideas from others. Anticipating what your opponent might do and trying to counter their moves will win a lot more...

I would have liked to have seen their face
During a recent battle, my opponent used Apocalypse. The battle proceeded to where I had only a Death Adder left facing an Emerald Proto-Whelp with a Beetle in the wings. The Whelp had just fully healed from Emerald Dream when the Apocalypse hit, killing the Whelp but not my Adder. I almost felt bad...
