Re: Moonfang at the Darkmoon Faire
Hopefully they'll stick to shared tapping for all rares in the future. With some luck they'll even revisit the old ones. The island would have been insufferable using the standard loot mechanics.

Re: Garnia
The respawn timer is random. Minimum 30 minutes, maximum 60. I've seen it at both extremes and everything in between, but never less and never more (though if you miss a spawn, it'll obviously seem like more). And despite rumors, it's 30-60 minutes after Garnia dies, not after Garnia's corpse despaw...

Supply might also increase on some servers, depending on whether PUGs will start doing the first wing on normal once they get a bit better gear and knowledge of the fights. The first four boss fights are pretty easy, so it's not unthinkable that non-raiders would PUG them on both flex and normal.

Re: So.... This first time a day drop rate....
In the end, I think everyone needs to interpret the information in a way that best suits them. I think interpreting the information correctly and then using it in a way that best suits you is more useful. Since we're talking mathematical drop chances in a computer program, there is going to be a co...

Re: So.... This first time a day drop rate....
Sorry to debunk the theories here... Nothing is debunked. The theory isn't that you can only get things on the first kill, but that the drop chance is increased on the first kill. Even if you got all pets on the second kill, that's still not enough data to really say much about the actual drop rate...

Re: Wowhead statistics for new pet drop rates
Ok, so my luck with drop rates is holding steady then. 260 nests so far, no crane pet. lol At that point, just pick it up from the AH. Or check any nests you happen to come by, but focus on the other pets. I've poked maybe 30-40 nests and gotten four birds, with the surplus ending up in the AH. At ...

Re: 5.4 LFR ToT; are raid pets droping off bonus roll?
As I understood it, the bonus roll drop rates for ToT pets got buffed in 5.4. I got the Horridon pet from a bonus roll yesterday, but haven't gotten around to doing any other boss that drops pets yet.

To be fair, it's only a 10% chance. No plan is fool proof, so just retreat, bandage and try again if that happens.Rendigar wrote:The main problem with the Zandalari Kneebiter / Anklerender [4-P/P] method is Sandstorm can still make your Chrominius miss.

Re: Farmer Nishi buffed? I laugh
My [pet]Pandaren water spirit[/pet] still wrecks that whole team. I had to change my setup from 122 to 111, but the same pet still does the job. The change to the elemental racial allowing your [ability]Healing Wave[/ability] to benefit from the flower's sunlight made an outlasting approach more via...

Re: Little Tommy Newcomer
The main trick to it seems to start with a pet that has [ability]Ion Cannon[/ability] and to use that on the first round. The first pet is going to get swapped out after that round anyway, so the recharge isn't a problem. What you do after that shouldn't matter too much, because you just took out a ...

Re: Huh, it appears Haunt got fixed
It's still pretty situational. Before it was an awful lot of risk (has to hit and enemy has to live four rounds or your pet dies) for a fairly minor reward. It's arguably a bit too good now, but it was too random before.

Re: Changes to Pandaren daily battles in 5.4
I found that the biggest change to trainers was that the dragon racial now kicks in at 50% instead of 25%. This made both Aki and the fire spirit more annoying, as their dragon pets were generally able to kill their opponents one round faster. While it didn't make them all that much harder once you ...

Re: How many pets did it take for the scenario?
Went through about a hundred pets on my first attempt, but didn't have enough mechanicals to actually beat Xu-Fu. Got close with various non-mechanical teams, but always missed something and wiped at ~200 hp. I find myself hugely disappointed by the (lack of) variety in the pets you face in the tour...

Re: Celestial Tournament 101
I beat Chi-Chi with three random magic pets that happened to have a damage boosting ability. He always uses Ethereal on cooldown, so just count the turns and use your boosting ability on those turns. Other than that, just all out DPS. Xu-Fu, however, seems to be impossible to beat. Probably because ...

I found him to be unexpectedly easy. My standard "kill legendary beasts" daily team of Mechanical Yeti + Pet Bombling + Menagerie Custodian killed him without problem.

Re: How does your guild handle vanity pets in raids?
Anyone who cares does a /roll. Anyone who doesn't actually care but rolls anyway gets shouted at on Mumble. If you want to bypass that potential drama, do a raid roll and give it to whoever wins. As with any loot distribution, you'll get less drama the simpler the system is. Trying to use it as a re...

Re: Apocolypse in PVP Battles
It's one pet only, or every PvP team would just consist of cockroaches. Also note that the Apocalypse doesn't necessarily kill any active pet. Magic type pets with more than 40% health will survive thanks to the family ability, undead pets will get their bonus round(s), mechanical pets will self-rep...

I'm sorry there is 0 chance of the spectral tiger cubs being 'compromised accounts'. Because the people selling them were using brand new level 1 accounts that had no achievement points or 10 achievement points earning the Going Down achievement. Just because they got the stuff from stolen accounts...

Re: Unborn Val'kyr - Haunt
Personally I would use Unholy Ascension on the immortal turn as a final insult to the killer, as I find Haunt too unreliable to use and you might not even get the payoff if it misses. Unholy Ascension can be more useful, but it'll depend on the pets involved. Haunt provides unavoidable damage. UA g...

I don't see why they would bother fixing it, as it seems completely useless. You don't achieve anything you couldn't do by passing a few times and then using Life Exchange.
