Rare Fawn really Rare

I admit I am a bit focused shall we say on this topic but it has been frustrating me for a week now. I am trying to get a rare fawn in elwyn woods with no luck. So just for my peace of mind, they do exist right?

Indeed, I caught mine in Elwyn on launch day. Just be patient and eventually the RNG will favor you. They did seem less frequent to me than other pets in the zone, though; I even caught a Rare Black Lamb before getting a Fawn, and on launch day Lambs were being targeted pretty heavily.

If you are still having bad luck hope is on the horizon! Patch 5.1 you'll be able to use a Flawless Battle-stone to upgrade any pet to rare quality.

I managed to get three rare fawns in Elwynn but it took a while.

The first fawn I found while looking for a rare Black Sheep was a rare. They do exist!

You have luck much akin to mine. It took me a good 3-4 days to find one in Elwynn Forest. It would seem even uncommon level fawns are a bit scarce. Keep at it though, it's a good chance to gain some levels for your less used pets and one will turn up eventually.

I finally got a rare fawn and lucked into a rare baby ape. I guess I just got lucky with the first few rares I found, the others have all been an uphill battle.

Literally in the case of the small black ram. If I didn't have flying I couldn't get to most of them and half of them (ok 1/4th of them) have battleground obstructed messages.

Think I got a rare Fawn fairly quickly but there are others that it seems I can just not get. Either the spiky or spiny lizard in Org to me doesn't seem to come in a rare version. Just seems some of us have good luck with some pets and bad with others.

Yeah the RNG does seem to do that. I fought countless Creepy Crawlies when I started battling, but never saw a rare.

Last night I had two in about 5 fights. Oo

I actually just got my Rare Fawn last night as a secondary in a battle in Grizzly Hills or Howling Fjord (can't remember which).

Was pretty surprised.

Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of just how rare each pet is and how rare they rare spawns are? I have noticed that every 4th or 5th skunk I fight is rare but I have never even found an uncommon dung beetle.

I got a Fawn first day and it was rare. I was so confused. I received the achievement for finding a rare pet and I didn't know there were diff qualities at the time. So all I could think of was "how is it rare? They bounding around everywhere here." I only just learned that pets had different qualities about 2 weeks ago /blush

How can you tell if a pet is rare?

There's a few ways to tell, and I think 5.1 will bring even more. But the number one way to tell is that once you capture the pet, your text log will say something like: You have captured Fawn and it is now in your pet journal (or something like that) the color of the pet's name is it's rarity.
Grey = poor
white = Common
Green = uncommon
blue = rare
