For anyone doing this, the easiest way for getting the gold is send 5 Renowned Guild Tabards over to your toon. Equip one and vendor the other 4. Once you hit Revered, vendor the last one and buy the pet.

Sure, you spend 1k on your home realm for a little over 300g here, but it's fast and you get the double rep.

I did it as a DK. In the time it took me to get to Revered, I had 170g or so. I just needed to vendor one Timeless Isle token and 2 renowned tabards to make up the rest.

Is your character name also Warstar? I moved my 90 alliance warrior over Durotan and have asked 2 officers for an invite with no luck. I don't want to seem like a pain, so I wont ask them again (maybe it was just bad timing on my part).

Is there anyone who is doing this that needs the gold to buy the pet? I got mine, but I now have an extra 300 gold there... and I plan to delete the character as I already have more than enough alts.

Found someone and gave them 300 gold. I put the remaining gold I had left into the guild bank.

I didn't read Doobjanka's suggestion until now, so I had to wait three days until I was able to sell a pet in the AH. I did send over a full set of BoA gear and the tabard, so it only took a few hours to get the rep.
