Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
I am unsure about the hit system.... One can not calculate the opponents damage that easily, which makes your cool down usage a lot more random. I hate it. The removal of RNG was completely superficial -- at the critical decision making points in the game, there is actually more randomness than eve...

Re: Valks have been nerfed into obscurity
http://www.wowhead.com/petability=652 The new Haunt tooltip doesn't say anything about missing on the UD round either. I know they mentioned this change on Twitter, but there was no official mention of it, and the execution isn't very good. When Haunt misses, there's nothing ingame to explain why. T...

Re: Valks have been nerfed into obscurity
But making it so that a pet can't use its best ability during its final two rounds alive is ridiculous. This might be a bit much, their original statement on this implied that it wouldn't be usable on 'the undead round'. Which I assumed meant that if the Valk was in its UD round when you select abi...

Re: Valks have been nerfed into obscurity
I for one would have liked to see them FIX the problem instead of once again taking a shortcut and ruining a pet that a lot of people spent alot of time farming. Much akin to what happened with the Fluxfire. I wonder how you would have fixed it then. Adding a cooldown doesn't strike me as very seve...

Re: Valks have been nerfed into obscurity
4 rounds of haunt, combined with 5 rounds to cool off, means that it can only be used once every 9 rounds. 10 if it requires a pet swap. Seems very modest at that point If you compare it to old Haunt, then of course it's bad. But it's not fair to compare to old Haunt, because old Haunt was absurdly...

Re: What happened to the prices of pets?
Huge Sharp Teeth was a decent alternative to Flurry, but it got nerfed along with a few other DoTs that didn't deserve it (Rip, Poison Fang, etc.). DMR is very bad now.

Re: Iron Starlette is becomming a rather familiar monster?
Im starting to think that a P/P Iron Starlette is simply pure overkill, It is. PS and HP will be the most useful, it just depends how you intend to bait their avoidance--either outspeed them more quickly, or take more health so you have more turns to play chicken. So far it appears Bronze Whelpling...

Re: Endangered crabs
I have never really been a huge fan of surge because it does so puny damage. Like I am pretty sure if you end up in a crab vs crab fight using surge it would never end as shell shield + healing wave would negate all the damage you do to each other... Absolutely true. But crab's job is almost never ...

Re: Grommloc worth it?
Mighty Charge is pretty much on par with things like gift of winter veil and greench's gift and other similar high damage cd moves, Gift is 40 base dmg, Mighty Charge is 32. It's very poor for a 4 round cd, and it doesn't compare favorably to some 3 round cds either (Whirlwind (33), Bonestorm (45, ...

Re: Grommloc worth it?
Yes, they could have done a lot better with it. He's clearly a rush job -- Mighty Charge is easily the blandest non-spammable ability in the game. I think they were initially willing to be adventurous with the Dominance/Whirlwind moveset, then realized that they didn't have time to test/balance it p...

Re: Grommloc worth it?
I've seen your posts on another site suggesting that the Grommloc is now 'lame' Do you think its a pet that could be of interest in pet pvp in WoD at all? Figured I'd answer in this thread -- Grommloc is lame *compared to his earlier versions*. He initially could take Dominance+Whirlwind, which wou...

Re: Grommloc worth it?
Giant's Blood is excellent; sadly Mighty Charge is very bad, especially if you compare to something like Tornado Punch. If he's PP, then his damage output will still be impressive, but he'll be a 260 speed pet with 1200 health, ie extremely susceptible to CC/avoidance and AoE. PP would be 366 power,...

Re: Endangered crabs
Just curious if I'm simply getting a skewed sample, but based on my experiences with my P/P Emperor Crab, I'm wondering why I don't see more of them. I see them constantly. I'm sure there's tons of variability queue-to-queue, but I perceive this guy as one of the most popular pets. People are even ...

Re: One hit wonders incoming!
How do you count 5 turns? Rabbit can only avoid attacks for 3 turns, Yes but the rabbit doesn't just spam avoidance on turns 1-3. The rabbit can wait until Starlette uses Wind-Up and/or Supercharge. It takes 3 turns of Powerball for PP Starlette to become faster than the rabbit: Starlette can't use...

Re: One hit wonders incoming!
On the positive side, if iron starlette mega hit becomes popular, then magic family pets suddenly become lot more viable as their racial perfectly counters it. Magic pets were never a viable counter for FFF, and I wouldn't expect them to be effective against Starlette either. Starlette can just Pow...

Re: One hit wonders incoming!
Any change is good change at this point. Haunt nerf and DAH overnerf should also go live next week.
On the bright side, if Starlette does turn out to be 5.2 FFF, there's another patch in a month so there's an opportunity to address it reasonably quickly.

Re: Swapping is Boring
Obviously it all comes down to the matchups, but to declare that you can win by swapping pets with only one particular kind of team just isn't the case. Nobody is arguing that. Tactical swapping is common. But strategic swapping is not. Planning your strategy around swapping is difficult because ve...

Re: Swapping is Boring
at the moment it doesn't work for all teams but Raindance because swapping is to expensive. Absolutely this. You can't plan on strategic swapping because losing a turn is way too big a drawback for all but the most overwhelming combos. But it's not like you can reduce the cost to 0.7 turns. The onl...

Re: Fun Murkalot teams
Basically you just want to combine RI with a high-damage move. So Armageddon/Bonestorm are natural choices, so is Avalanche/Thunderbolt, so is Haunt (because RI buff stays on the pet and doesn't wear off while it's dead). Feed/Siphon Anima, Ghostly Bite, Surge of Power, Ion Cannon are all ok, but no...
