Re: Gargra as alliance??
I ended up running in via the water from Talador. Not super helpful as advice per se, but I was there already, so I figured I'd go grab Gargra & the FP while I was there.

Re: So you can't kill wild battle pets anymore?
I had completely forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder! That trick works to a certain extent for lots of single-target non-damaging offensive abilities... purge/dispel, CCs, fear, etc. In those cases though, the pet just kinda flips out every which way, & will *hopefully* run to a good place...

Re: how many "types" of teams can you think of?
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Force Swap teams yet! They've lost their popularity a bit, but I've found that if your opponent isn't ready for it, you can win just because you throw them off their game. Though of course, that means you're probably beating up on newbies, which always makes me sad, ...

Yet Another Warlords Of Draenor Strats Post!
There are a lot of new fights on this old world. Some are straightforward, like the battles we've grown to know & love. Some take us through our Garrison's Menagerie. Others have us diving deep through old content in new & dynamic ways. The most accessible to your average player is the series of 6 n...

Yeah, I was flame shocking the crabs that were too far underwater to reach battling. I think it's just anti-AoE.

Re: WoD Found pets can't Pet Battle
It seemed largely tied to server population... It was an absolute non-starter on the ultra-populated Proudmoore, but on the med-low pop Turalyon I was able to get 50-60 wild fights in before the servers started flipping out this morning. Was far more efficient XP than fighting people for mobs & loot...

Re: Since when does Yen have takedown?
That's fine, I was just hoping for specifics, to get some insight into their design process. The 11th hour Von Feasel change made Syd's behavior more consistent, which seems to be a big theme here, esp with the Accuracy changes. Syd used to just bubble or whirlpool pretty much whenever. Now, it's e...

Near Nitun can be really good, as can near Kafi. I've also found a lot of little pockets in Cata content which are virtually deserted. Near the lake in Hyjal is decent.

Since 6.0! haha.
Yeah, without Comeback you don't have to worry about avoiding an Undead in the first slot against Yen's all-Humanoid team.

Re: Overlooked awesome pets
It depends on your definition of 'overlooked'! I will say that I definitely underestimated the power of the Gazelle Fawn. So many heals, & that Nature's Ward swing Family type is near-invaluable in Draenor. I've found that a lot of the higher-level 'trash' pets are oddly good too. Like frogs, with t...

Re: Pet of the Month - Crow
P/S & S/S are the 2 to shoot for, imo. Before the Flying racial kicks in, Crows are pretty slow. The S/S is 325 speed, not even in hailing distance of the top 20. The P/S is 289 speed, making it dead even with the Clockwork Gnome. The difference between the 2 in terms of power is ~60 points of damag...

Re: Pet of the Month - Spirebound Crab
Yep, you're right. Min-maxing, the Emperor is a better pick. The Spirebound does really well though... the difference between the 2 stats is, eg ~50 hp healed per Healing Wave cast, so it's not gamebreaking if you opt for the Spirebound. It's enough to make a difference in a really close fight, and ...

My Perky Pug, Bertha, was actually supposed to be Mr. Rochester. Even just 'Rochester' was blocked, and I'm not sure why. Place name? the 'chest' in the middle? Still not sure.

Re: Are pet battles pay to win?
The whole wrong breed thing will likely be largely remedied by pet breeding in the garrisons. Um, maybe. lol. We haven't heard much about it other than it's a thing and can change the breed of a pet. The reason the 'good' AH pets are overpriced is simple supply vs demand. Blizzard isn't really at fa...

Thanks for the kind words, all. I'm being super professional. No twirling around like Maria in the Sound of Music at ALL. But I'm glad you liked it. YAY.

Burning/Scorched Earth and Conflag combos too, and no DoT damage from Scorched Earth. Also, Mudslide, but lolol. And yeah, I'd agree with the assessment that it's generally a fairly weak racial, even with the buff.

Re: Need a Sudden Death mechanic?
The funny thing is, my longest fights haven't been against people using turtle teams. It's almost always against people using Lightning Storm, because of that weird graphical lag between hits. I stopped using mine before it was nerfed down to 5 turns even though it was my favorite to play early on, ...

Re: Regarding Demolish & blind hit bug - from Blizz
My understanding was that Demolish wasn't changed, because miss streak protection is fairly 'baked in' to the minigame. The change post-hotfix (ie, yesterday after reset) which was supposed to be in for 5.4.7 was that Demolish's miss streak protection was so good that it overwrote the -100% accuracy...

Brand new late addition! https://twitter.com/TheCrafticus/status/436684937786163200 For the non-clickers, they hotfixed Sandstorm (will hotfix? it's hard to say from that context and I haven't tried it personally) to shield elementals again. If so, Shu's middle pet is making out like a freaking BAND...

Re: Percentage based damage
I used these pretty frequently early on in strats vs single-pet mobs (ie, Beasts of Fable). These moves aren't affected by the Boss percentage reduction, so they do the full amount of damage to those huge health pools, but they're also not affected by either percentage boosts or Wild Magic-type per ...
