Re: help with the pet battle in your garrison

For the carrot, hard-hitting aquatics with some longevity, like frogs or striders, are the ticket. I also liked my Spawn of G'nathus with Swallow You Whole, but that takes a bit of doing & you can tame a high-lvl frog or strider without a ton of lead-up. The new Mud Jumper is pretty excellent to...

Re: The Halfhill of WoD?

Moonshell crabs on the coast in SMV or the area near the single shared FP in FFR, where there are a lot of yellow-aggro clefthooves but that's about it. In general, I've had good luck going to areas that aren't really near anything, like the coast north of Shattrath in Talador.

Re: Lets discuss the Draenor pets

I'm looking forward to this one with the 1st moveset you mentioned, just because there aren't a ton of Elemental options that are particularly sturdy. There are a few with a heal, but for the most part they tend to be glass cannons. It's kind of nice to see them adding a broader range of 'types' to ...

Re: Elekk Plushie

It's an item crafted by a tailor, like the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling is by Engineers. The pattern is purchased in the Tailoring building in the Garrison. A tailor can trade the item, and after it's learned anyone can cage or trade it. The weird thing is, I have a tailor who started the expansio...

Re: how many "types" of teams can you think of?

There was, but it was nerfed with the Resilience buff. Thank Triple Turkeys.

Re: WoD daily pet battle routes

Yeah. I use my regular hearth on the last one, because by then I tend to have a ton of fish, herbs, etc in my bags. In that vein, there are a lot of additional semi-side quests you can do along the way too, like the Stables taming quests, gathering random stuff for your LM/Barn, etc. I don't think p...

Re: WoD daily pet battle routes

I had the quickest time as Horde by starting at the Garrison, doing FFR -> Gorgrond -> Talador -> Spires -> SMV, Garrison Hearth -> Nagrand. I'd conjecture that the fastest path for Alliance would be SMV -> Spires -> Nagrand, Garrison Hearth -> Talador -> Gorgrond -> FFR, but I didn't get a chance t...

Re: Pet Grindng.

The eastern coast just north of Karabor usually has enough crabs to support 3 grinders without downtime, as long as people aren't trying to cherry pick for rares. There are Draenei NPCs but they don't aggro horde & won't flag for PVP if you decide to kill them. There's a fairly decent pocket jus...

Re: Gargra as alliance??

I ended up running in via the water from Talador. Not super helpful as advice per se, but I was there already, so I figured I'd go grab Gargra & the FP while I was there.

Re: So you can't kill wild battle pets anymore?

I had completely forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder! That trick works to a certain extent for lots of single-target non-damaging offensive abilities... purge/dispel, CCs, fear, etc. In those cases though, the pet just kinda flips out every which way, & will *hopefully* run to a good p...

Re: how many "types" of teams can you think of?

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Force Swap teams yet! They've lost their popularity a bit, but I've found that if your opponent isn't ready for it, you can win just because you throw them off their game. Though of course, that means you're probably beating up on newbies, which always makes me sad, ...

Yet Another Warlords Of Draenor Strats Post!

There are a lot of new fights on this old world. Some are straightforward, like the battles we've grown to know & love. Some take us through our Garrison's Menagerie. Others have us diving deep through old content in new & dynamic ways. The most accessible to your average player is the serie...

Re: So you can't kill wild battle pets anymore?

Yeah, I was flame shocking the crabs that were too far underwater to reach battling. I think it's just anti-AoE.

Re: WoD Found pets can't Pet Battle

It seemed largely tied to server population... It was an absolute non-starter on the ultra-populated Proudmoore, but on the med-low pop Turalyon I was able to get 50-60 wild fights in before the servers started flipping out this morning. Was far more efficient XP than fighting people for mobs & ...

Re: Since when does Yen have takedown?

That's fine, I was just hoping for specifics, to get some insight into their design process. The 11th hour Von Feasel change made Syd's behavior more consistent, which seems to be a big theme here, esp with the Accuracy changes. Syd used to just bubble or whirlpool pretty much whenever. Now, it's e...

Re: Pet Grindng.

Near Nitun can be really good, as can near Kafi. I've also found a lot of little pockets in Cata content which are virtually deserted. Near the lake in Hyjal is decent.

Re: Since when does Yen have takedown?

Since 6.0! haha.

Yeah, without Comeback you don't have to worry about avoiding an Undead in the first slot against Yen's all-Humanoid team.

Re: Overlooked awesome pets

It depends on your definition of 'overlooked'! I will say that I definitely underestimated the power of the Gazelle Fawn. So many heals, & that Nature's Ward swing Family type is near-invaluable in Draenor. I've found that a lot of the higher-level 'trash' pets are oddly good too. Like frogs, wi...

Re: Pet of the Month - Crow

P/S & S/S are the 2 to shoot for, imo. Before the Flying racial kicks in, Crows are pretty slow. The S/S is 325 speed, not even in hailing distance of the top 20. The P/S is 289 speed, making it dead even with the Clockwork Gnome. The difference between the 2 in terms of power is ~60 points of d...
