Not a bad pet with Bite or Leech, Blood Fang and Lift Off as my primary choice of attacks.  Decent for leveling pets and does well against aquatics and critters.  Plus it has an interesting look.

 

However, it makes a crippled horse brey sound when hit.  It just makes me wince when I hear it.

The mission from the weekly island treasure map is for one of these. First I've heard of a pet as the reward.
