Leveling up Exp
Can anyone explain why I keep getting different amounts of character lvl exp when doing Battles pets in SL, I just did today's pet battles and 3 of them gave me 5150 exp for a level 67 rested ...the 4th one gave me only 1700 exp.....some days I get two different exp lvl from all 4 of the pet battles in SL.....
Re: Leveling up Exp
Was the fourth one against a single Boss pet, and the other three against a regular team of three?
Re: Leveling up Exp
Hi,
Can't say I had noticed that but it makes sense, since with a single pet fight, in general, you can finish it with 2 of your pets. The tough ones would be if the 3 pets have a wild menagerie of spells that are tough to counter but so far I have not seen any of these in the Dragon Isles.

Shadowlands XP does seem to depend on how many pets you're up against, is irrelevant if it's a WQ or not.
Today was consistently seeing 1551 XP from battling a single pet and 4700, about 3 times as much, from a fight with a 3-pet team.
Dragonflight WQ XP calculation is simpler, exactly same XP for any number of your pets against 1 or 3-pet opponent.

Re: Leveling up Exp
Moused was asking about "character lvl exp" rather than pet XP though.
But if Dragonflight gives "exactly same XP for any number of your pets against 1 or 3-pet opponent," that's interesting, though.
Jere's Character Pet XP reference viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8829 hives the formula as
3-pet opponents always gave three times as much pet XP as a similar 1-pet battle. And I thought that might carry over to character XP.
But if you're saying that 1-pet battles in DF give as much pet XP as 3-pet battles, that's a pretty interesting change. I must test it sometime.

where N is the Number of opposing pets. Now, that guide is out of date since Blizzard buffed levelling in 9.1.5, but apart from the buffs, I have still believed the rest holds.experience = B*T*N*[(your_pet_level + 9) * (opponent_pet_level - your_pet_level + 5)]

Re: Leveling up Exp
OK, so I did two battles. I did both twice, once when I was also getting WQ credit, and a second time when I wasn't, to confirm.
Both were on a Level 65. No Hat, or any other buff.
Both were done with 2 level 25 pets, and a level 23 carry.
3-pet: They're Full of Stars
Level 23 pet got 168 XP
Level 65 alt got 5000 XP
1-pet: Adinakon
Level 23 pet got 672 XP
Level 65 alt got 1650 XP
This makes no sense to me.
