Male and Female pets

Post by Goldash » September 14th, 2014, 11:58 pm

Have people been collecting both sexes of each pet?
I know in WoD there is talk of breeding. Guessing most pets aren't asexual and only just found out that there are genders in pets.
Is it difficult to get both sexes of any pets? or are they 50/50 chance of getting that gender for all pets?
How do you breed pets like Murkalot where you can only have one? do one off pets come as multi-gender or are they asexual/desexed/just plain lonely?

For each of these 10 configurations, there are actually two breed IDs. These two IDs are exactly the same, EXCEPT one indicates a male pet and the other, a female pet.

Male breeds = IDs 3-12
Female breeds = IDs 13-22

I believe the breeding idea was shelved/scrapped. Must say I'm quite relieved, it sounded like a bit of a nightmare. ;)

The pet breeding that was proposed never seemed to use the gender of the pets. Also as Graven pointed it out has been pushed back from the WoD release and might end up never coming like the dance studio. One major issue they would have is that as I understand it currently in game there is no way to see the gender of a pet, even with an add-on. You can get the gender from the data feed from the armory which is how sites like this can tell you what the gender is but it isn't currently available in game. When pets were released they were asked about the genders and basically said it was a just in case. They put it in from the start because they though they might use it at some point and it wasn't hard to do and it would have been much harder to add on later.
