Message to Gardenia, or any Claw Hunters

Gardenia,

I saw your wall post about trying for [pet]Crawling Claw[/pet]
-Digging up the whole of Kalimdor
Just a thought but here is what I did, I hated digging up sites that didn't help me with the claw, so I did Pandaren sites and converted the artifacts into Tol'vir parts. At least every dig site helped in some small way toward the claw, where in Kalimdor every dig that wasn't in Uldum was just a random chance it could maybe pop in Uldum the next time.

PS I have also been known to do this for the Fossils needed for Darkmoon Faire.

I'm one of them there Claw hunters! Pandaria seems to way to go, can knock out some achievements along the way too.

I only have this toon so my farm is exclusively for the motes of harmony, offers a couple of extra solves every fortnight or so too, for 5 minutes work most days. Still, 105 solves and no claw yet. Think my realmie [profile]Klaital[/profile] is on double that, poor thing

Thanks for the tip, Morlis, but I think I actually prefer digging up Kalimdor, lol.... For a few reasons:

1) I'm at the point where I have pretty much all the rares for every other type of dig on the continent (just got the troll sword last week so now I have a pretty sweet transmog item for alts), so once I clear out about 4-6 sites outside of Uldum, I end up with four sites in Uldum which generally regenerate continuously for a good number of digs in a row.

2) Unless they changed it since the last time I turned in an artifact in Pandaria, the amount of pieces you get in a crate isn't enough to finish an artifact. I can finish 1-2 artifacts per Uldum dig site (depending upon how many keystones I get).

3) Profit! I've made over 10k (so far) from selling junk items I've pieced together during my search. ;)

I know quite a few people swear by the Pandaria method, but it just seems like more work for not as much gain to me, lol. So I'll just stick to putting holes all over Kalimdor and not bothering to fill them in when I'm done because I am an Ambassador and I can get away with it. Diplomatic Immunity, y'all!

Cool, the profit side makes sense.

It seems the amount of pop in Uldum has improved, when I was doing it a 1.5 years or so ago I did 1 in Uldum to about 5 anywhere else. To me this was a serious time sink.

I think I haven't done much digging since I got the claw, and I don't miss it one bit.

I have used the occasional Spirit of Harmony to buy the Restored Artifact to trade for the fossils since then.

Best of luck to you. :)
