[EU] Choosing the best realm for pet battling and collecting

Post by Jester » March 13th, 2014, 6:15 am

Hey there,
I've recently bought WoD CE and got the "free" level 90 boost.
I decided not to use it on my own realm because I already got several high level toons and it feels pretty useless :)
There goes my question: is there an EU realm particularly good for pet battlers and collectors? (i.e. low AH prices)
Maybe a Normal realm would be better, so I can decide to flag myself off PvP when battling in the wild.
Yet, the ideal thing would be a realm with a pet-oriented guild who could let me join :)

Thanks in advance for all the advices

EU Guilds
Server, PVE/PvP, Faction, Guild Name, Guild Level, Contact person
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silvermoon - PVE - Alliance - WarcraftPets - 25 - Any member.

Doob posted that on the WarcraftPets guild forum. Only EU one listed. Would have to ask someone from there about AH prices etc. but it is PvE like you mentioned.

Alliance AH prices are usually very decent. Also there's almost always about 25 to 30 pages of pets available. Comparing this to my main's realm (Stormrage-EU horde), where there are only 2-3 pages, I'd say Silvermoon is the realm for you

Oh so you both agree on this, very cool :)
I think I'll make a level 1 human to check AH and stuff.. and then I'll just have to choose a stand-alone class to boost (any advices on this? :P Excluding Druid, Priest, Hunter, DK and Mage)

Thanks a lot guys btw :)

Class wise, I'd pick something that can solo old content easily, like a DK or maybe a warlock.

Silvermoon Alliance is pretty good (i transferred a 70 here for that reason)

Great, before reading this I did create a level 90 Dwarf Lock on Silvermoon (Ally) now I only hope to find a pet friendly guild =)

Thank you all!

There is a very pet friendly guild, namely the one that is related to this web-site.
The guild is called WarcraftPets and can be highly recommended.

The *only* downside to the realm is that evenings it is often locked and you will have to wait in the queue to get in.

If you login before 18:30 server time - i very rarely ever see a queue, or if there is its 20 people

And there I am.. just joined this fun guild with my Lock yesterday :)

One last thing guys.. I'm gonna decide which primary professions are better, considering this will be my only toon on the realm.. I was thinking to Herb/Alchemy both because they're easy to level and because they are quite good for moneymaking: what do you think about? :)

The generally accepted wisdom for money making while levelling is to have 2 gathering professions - I usually take mining and herbing, as they can be spotted on the minimap and giveexp as well.

Having said that, for some reason, my warlocks usually end up taking enchanting and its 'gathering profession' tailoring.

Thanks but as I said in the OP I've used a level 90 boost to get to SM, so I didn't have to level at all =)
I know Tailoring/Ench would be the most logical but they're a pain to level up ^_^
I've not decided yet but I think I'll craft myself a Sky Golem and then go for Alch/Herb :P
