The WoW Tcg is ending

Post by Luciandk » August 23rd, 2013, 9:14 pm

Just spotted this:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/107342 ... -8_23_2013

Little wonder the next Timewalkers set will contain reruns of older lootcards, since its going to be the final one. But it sure seems timed to coincide with the launch of Hearthstone as the replacement game. But what it clearly means, once supply dries up from the Reign of Fire release, tcg pets will surely be scarce.

Wow, thanks for posting the link. That is some big news. It will be interesting to see how this affects the TCG pet market.

There's no reason why this would be true. They printed and released them already, and the supply never dried up from the original releases. Reign of Fire just added even more. And Wowtcgloot.com is not going away AFAIK. So the supply is essentially limitless; demand is the only factor driving prices. And considering how the recent duping issues have colored peoples' perception of TCG pet values, I doubt they'll be getting any scarcer.

Haha, I feared this in the back of my head on some level since me and few pals started testing out TCG and found it somewhat interesting. So what happens? Game gets "terminated" soon after. :D Sure, boosters will be still around for a while but if there is no new block coming, it will be a bit meh. Oh well.

Even if it ended now... Cards will long be around. Look at vanilla Ce. 10 years old... Sure expensive. But you can still find it.

This is sad, but on the other hand, 7 years ago they didn't regularly supply as many new cool pets in-game as they do every patch now.

I do play the game and collect the cards. This is a sad moment for me, but I know I'll get over it. Now to find a way to get more unique pets for the online game...
