Snap Trap % chance of triggering

Post by Iamwhatis » July 5th, 2013, 4:19 pm

Does anybody have enough experience using this? or actually have an understanding of the code? to let me/us know what the percentage chance of an attack triggering the trap is?

Also what counters do you use?

well, from having it used against me, i see it as a 35% chance each round to activate it.

to counter, well, any move that destroy objects on the field might work.

Wrong, if you use any wave against a trap it is removed but you trigger the effect as well. This is no counter move but you can decide when the trap goes off to eliminate the randomness

The trap will have 100% chance to activate if it would make you loose the game, true story.

You can block both setting and trigger by using Decoy or Ice Barrier type moves. You can also dodge it assuming it goes off when you attack with buff, putting Dodge up alone might make it spring. Swapping out Wolvar also works somewhat of getting less traps overall. But in the end, it's extremely hard to truly counter it, I had my pup soloing 2 enemy pets with trap going off at right time.
