I have just gotten an Undead Battle Stone, and I have no idea what pet to use it on, advice would be appreciated.

Very much this. Scourged Whelpling is probably the first and best use for a stone.

After that, H/P Ghostly Skull is probably the next priority. (yes, Ghostly Skulls come in different varieties)
Then Creepy Crate. Then [pet]Sen'jin Fetish[/pet].

... then we run out of uses for Flawless Undead Battle-Stones and they start piling up in our bank.
