Pet Tracker and Cogblade Raptor

Post by Cinnamara » January 29th, 2013, 9:19 pm

Looking over pets I need I saw listed a Cogblade Raptor that is found in Blade's Edge Mountain, Outland. Pretty sure I had collected everything, I flew over. Sure enough nothing on my pet tracker add-on saying I needed to find one. But I went to Toshley's Station anyway and saw about 20 scattered about. Soon as I started battle, I got the "!" letting me know that it was indeed a new pet for me to capture.

Now I'm wondering if I'm missing other pets that aren't showing on Pet Tracker. I know that it shows Sifang Otter Pup as being under a tree in Valley of the Four Winds, when everyone here says you get the pup as a second creature in Krasarang Wilds.

Are there others? Do I need a different tracker?

They added the cogblade in the most recent patch so you probably finished outlands before then.

I camped Sifang Otter Pups off the coast 'twixt Krasarang and Jade Forest, on a lowbie alt that hadn't phased the Domination areas.
Finally picked up a rare after almost a week. Nothing dangerous to aggro in the area (a few neutral mobs), so any L85 should be able to do it safely.

PetTracker is actually more accurate than a lot of information sources (including the default journal), but you need to keep it up-to-date because the maps get updated with new information. Some of it is right out (like the Coral Adder that apparently lives alone on an island off the coast of Jade Forest), but most of it is spot-on accurate.

And as FinkPloyd mentioned, Cogblade Raptor was added in 5.1, so it's possible your addon was slightly out-of-date.

Other pets added in 5.1:
Anodized Robo Cub
Arcane Eye
Fluxfire Feline
Emerald Proto-Whelp
Harpy Youngling
Infinite Whelp
Kun-Lai Runt
Lofty Libram
Nexus Whelp
Stunted Yeti

IIRC, Gilded Moth isn't displayed correctly with the addon.

It is, but it's phased.
I had to have a L85 Warlock'ed into the Vale to get my rare Gilded Moth.
Once the L85 was in, however, PetTracker's locations were relatively accurate for spawns.

Just for info, you can get a sub-87 into the Vale of Eternal Blossoms via a 90 mage portal. I have several 80s and a 58 who are bound there thanks to this.
