Do we have a new hunt?

Go to your pet roster and search for Muffin.

Noticed by Romire@Caelestrasz from US-GD.

There are actually 3 pets in the Pet Journal that I think are either placeholders and/or mistakenly left in.

Muffins, Mal and Salad. The latter 2 being actual NPCs IIRC. Can't actually collect these that I know of.

You may of course be right.

I immediately thought of the Terky tweet, though

6.2.2, barely lasted a month and a half. The next one will be... sneakier. #KeepWoWMysterious
I so hope it's ... sneakier. :)

Yeah, that name seems totally unrelated. Not at all. I like this direction.

Yes, Salad and Mal are parts of Erris' roster.

The only reason I'm so skeptical of Muffins being a new hidden pet right now is because his moveset is only half complete (at least when viewing him in the Pet Journal). Even a pet that was secretly added in, ready for us to find at some point, should at least be a complete pet.

Would I love another hidden pet? Yes! Finding [pet]Terky[/pet] was fun and it was nice to see an older, rarer pet made available to a wider audience.

But I don't think Muffins is that hidden pet...at least for the time being. He just doesn't seem ready for us to collect. Maybe he'll get stealth updated. Maybe he'll get replaced with a 'new Muffins'. We'll have to keep an eye on that one! ;)

Hm.

Was browsin' the icon database on WH.
Each icon has information to what kind of features it's been applied (how many spells, items, buffs etc including pet battle abilities).

And that's how I've found that.
It's likely from MoP beta suggesting that back in time the Ghostcrawler's reference was meant to be played more straight, though the ability itself should have had a different behaviour, huh? ;)

So this isn't anything new but definitely it's sneaky and makes you wonder.

(Note that going back to the ability list won't show you that one.)

It could be, that an ability is hinting location: E.g. [pet]Anubisath Idol[/pet]'s Sandstorm ability is a very clear indicator, that the pet is found in Uldum or Tanaris (or rather a raid here)..

Same thing can be possible for Muffin... Blizzard might even have come up with a new algoritm, that doesn't add the ability to the game (downloaded), until the pet is actually caught..

.....or maybe it's simply an unfinished pet, that will be fully added in v7.1..
