Unique pets collected

Post by Bloodykins » April 19th, 2015, 3:04 am

Hi warcraftpets,
is there an add-on or in-game mechanism that will tell you exactly what unique pets you have collected in the past? Or provides a list of unique pets that you still need to collect?

(I'm having some trouble with the So. Many. Pets. achievement. I recently added 3 new pets which I swear that I had not added before, but I only received credit for 1 of them).

Apologies if this already exists in Rematch, I had a good look but didn't see it.

If you import your pets from the armory to the website (this one here, warcraftpets), it'll tell you how many unique pets you have, how many duplicates you have, and you can then filter your list to show which ones you haven't collected yet too.

You can do that by moving your cursor over your display name on the top right, then selecting "My Collection", once the new page has loaded click on the second tab on the top saying "Update Collection", then scroll down and click on the big purple "Reimport Pets" button and the website will do the rest.

I'm not sure if there's any ingame addons that do exactly that. Rematch lets you filter your pets to display the not collected ones in the zone you're currently in, though. Maybe that's helpful?

best i've seen in game is petjournalenhanced.
i like it for the other features as well.

it is on curse, not sure about other sites

however it seems to have an issue with the guild grunt/page/heralds

this site is the best ive seen for tracking uniques

PetJournalEnhanced is indeed a must-have add-on for pet collectors. It looks a lot like the basic Pet Journal that Blizzard gives you, but has added a bunch of options that make it so much more useful.

It does have the same problem that the basic one does. Guild Heralds, Guild Pages, Argent Gruntlings and Argent Squires only show when you are logged onto a toon that earned them. Unlike all the other pets, you won't see it as collected if another of your toons acquired it but you didn't. Plus a Horde character with, for example, a Guild Herald won't see an Alliance Guild Herald even though you have an Ally toon that has one too. Not a really big deal, it's not like you're going to do much with these pets that can't battle anyway, but does affect the total number of uniques it shows.

Solution, as other posts have pointed out, use the excellent Manage My Pet Collection feature this website gives you. It'll show you everything.

If you use Rematch it also provides this information for you (unique pets). In the expanded view, hover over the number of pets value in the bottom left. It'll bring up a tooltip which has the unique count. It may not match the one of the site by a couple due to horde/alliance only pets but then again, neither does PJE.

Thanks all for your considered replies. I ran into another unique-counting pet issue just then. I added both the inscription kites (Chi-Ji and Yu'lon) on my main character, but I only got credit for adding one of them. Tried relogging and switching to a different toon, but still showing only a +1 count from previously.

I am almost convinced somehow my account has lost track of the unique pets collected.. I have been doing a fair bit of levelling/caging pets in the last month or so though. Blizz have not been able to assist much in this particular case - I submitted a ticket for the kite issue above. Has anyone ran into issues with keeping track of unique pets?

I tried the excellent manage your pets functionality on this website. It shows me at 590 uniques, but in-game has me at 592. Do I need to give the website more time to update (even though I did a successful re-import) ?

Happy collecting/battling,
Mck/Bloody

The website is totally based off of what the BNET website API provides. Whatever you see here is what Blizzard is telling it you have.

There have been times in the past that Warcraft armory wasn't reporting properly but if that's what's happening it must be very recent. I (finally) completed the Mighty Big Adventure achievement yesterday morning and Trunks was successfully added to my unique count on WarcraftPets.com.

Just looked at your pet collection and yep, doesn't show either Chi-Ji or Yu'lon. Don't know your toon's name so couldn't see what WoW armory is reporting. I'd try importing again, see if that helps.
