Silithid Hatchling Spawn Rate

Not sure if I was lucky with timing or if something changed in the today's mini-patch but I logged in during a sandstorm and there were silithid hatchlings all over the Gaping Chasm and Noxious Lair. The hatchlings were also quickly respawning after people battled them. This behavior is quite different from what I've experienced over the my last week of trying to get one. Previously I would login during sandstorms and would not see a single spawn over 45+ minutes.

If you still need one and were taking a break from trying, you may want to try again.

The same thing happened to me. I had been parked there for over a month and never saw one silithid hatchling until today. The sandstorm had been going on for a while and they were all over the place. I was lucky to get a rare on my first attempt. I hope never to see Tanaris again!

I'm not really sure what was up on my server (I think I was still considered in the server "Duskwood") but the sandstorm had been going on for 40 minutes but not a single hatchling spawned. The spawning rate just must be random during those storms.

According to the Hotfix Notes for Dec. 10th:

Silithid Hatchlings should now be less elusive.

Hopefully they have a better respawn rate now. These stories certainly give me hope. I will have to start checking for sandstorms again, maybe I can get something better than the common I settled for originally.

I dont know if I was just lucky (well partially lucky...sitting there for 2 weeks waiting for a storm dosn't seem lucky to me ^^; ) but I happened to log in and the storm was going strong with a ton of these buggers running around. I have an unhealthy love for Silithid's so I really wanted to have a rare for my team (and no one else was around).

Maybe before the patch they were like how the Shadeling was and they mass spawned once when the storm started and thats it till the next storm. I heard that the Shadeling only mass spawned once at midnight PST and then didn't spawn again until the following night but I was flying into the area to do my daily the other day and I saw 4 or 5 still up underground so this may have been changed (or I was just misinformed in the first place).
