Oppent Concesson != Match Win?

I ran into this twice so far tonight. My opponent conceded the match and yet I did not get a match win for "What We've Been Training For". Any idea what is going on?

Thanks,
Silverthorn

OK, now I "won" a match (yes, with all 25's) and it did not give me a win on the quest. Weird. Something is seriously wrong here. I tried reloading the UI, logging out & back in. No difference.

Thanks,
Silverthorn

The only time(s) I've ever been jipped out of a win towards "What we've been training for" is when I queue up and I'm not in a main city at the time. I don't like the fact that this happens and think it should be fixed, but the solution is really simple. :)

IIRC, the match has to last a certain amount of time before being counted as a win, it's either 30 or 60 seconds. It was to stop the win-trading-for-easy-xp-and-levels lark ;)

Cheers!

Afaik and in my experience the time limit is only for xp, not for win counting towards What We've Been Training For or for the various achievements. If someone sees your team and flees, you should get credit for the win--you can even get battle-stones--but no xp.

Were you maybe in a raid at the time?

Well, that's not the case now.

What you have mentioned did happen during a period of time but they hotfixed that later.

The current setting is :

1. if the match ended before a required minimum period - It should be 60 seconds, then you will not get any EXP for your character.

2. however, the match will still count as a win for your weekly quest, your achievement and it should still have a chance to give you the lesser elder coin, as for the chance to get a stone - I am not sure about it.

You are correct, no xp if match ends under a minute or so due to some one running away.
But, can get stone and do get win if they do, got a flying one yesterday when some one ran.

Now will not get win if in a raid group.
So waiting for group to assemble one can't pet battle, I know sucks.

Being in raid is one possibility.

There also was an occasional bug with the daily/weekly quests, where it would stop giving credit if you kept the quest past its reset period. For example, if you accepted the weekly quest on week 1, and then didn't finish it that week, and then on week 2 you continued working on it: on week 2 you would no longer get credit. The only solution I know of was to abandon the quest and re-accept (which is aggravating if you had any wins toward completing it). The same thing happens with the beasts of fable dailies sometimes.

This might have something to do with being queued for LFR at the same time. If the system thinks you are already in a raid group, you won't be able to advance non-raid quests. The designers felt that if you could group in a raid to do quest stuff like dailies, people would feel that had to, all the time, to be the most efficient. Maybe LFR sometimes flags you as "in a raid" while you are queued? I haven't seen it in the past (and I have doubled up like this often), but it could be a bug.

Curious.

If memory serves, the can't complete quests in a raid predates dailies even existing so I don't think that was the reason. The explanation I've always heard was that they didn't want people to feel like they had to join a raid so that they could benefit from anyone killing X for the kill 20 of X type quests and that does make sense as it would make them impossible to balance. I can understand not wanting to make those types of quests trivial by allowing a full raid to work on them together but it's always been annoying on how arbitrary it can be about what does and doesn't work while in a raid. They really need to just change it so that you can do anything you want while in a raid but only "raid" flagged quests work for everyone in the raid. Everything else functions like you where only in a group with the specific people in your group as far as getting credit for kills, quest drops etc.

Being able to do some dailies while waiting for a raid to start is much better than having to sit around bored IMO.
