Elemental racial ability

A friend pointed out something about elementals on Farmer Nishi when she was on the terrible turnip pet. If you use sandstorm on your Idol and switch out to an elemental carry pet, the sandstorm won't block the sons of root spell. Why is this? I wouldn't think that getting hit less is considered a negative and this doesn't happen I keep the Idol in so obviously, it's not considered a negative environment to the terrible turnip. It's just weird.

Short answer: You're correct and we think it is a bug based on some tweets from Bliz.
