50% abilities hitting way more than they should

I've been noticing that a lot of people are using Demolish and Belly Slide in PvP, and they seem to hit more than 50%. I decided to plug in the Idol and Penguin in my daily pet grind and kept track of hit percentage until I used each ability 20 times. With sandstorm up, Demolish should hit at 40%, but I hit 13 times, or roughly 60%. Belly slide hit 14, or roughly 70%. Just curious if anyone else is noticing this or were the RNG gods just on my side?

RNG gods on your side. Try a 100 or 1000 sample :p

Actually many of the 50% hit abilities is thought to be broken. Theres been lots of blabber about it, and some people did tests on it. Showing a hit chance of 70%.

Hit chance in pet battles is a bit broken imo.
If you use a pet that has demolish, I suggest you use demolish. It will outdamage the alternative :)

lolfixheal is right. Statistically speaking 20 tries is not a large enough sample size to be confident that there is something wrong. If you really think that there is something wrong with them get a bigger sample set. Conveniently someone built an add on to track it for you.

With that said I can say I've personally experienced a case were the game shows a 0% hit chance for something and it still hit (50% hit chance on the ability combined with a 50% debuff) so there does seem to be at least some cases where things seem to be off.

20 is a small sample size, however, people have done more extensive testing, and Demolish is in fact hitting at more than 50%. It seems to be 75%, and the same for belly slide. Here's [url=http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/10387789325]source[/url].

theres a reason why exitpolls and other polls you might read about in the newspaper take over 1000+ samples. that being said, theres good chance you're right about your 50% hit abilties hitting more often than they should. theres so many broken things in wow, also in pet battles. I send em a ticket everytime I find something, hoping they will read it, send it further and get it fixed.

Bat's Nocturnal Strike (50% strike) is also hitting way more often. I didn't use it for quite awhile just because of the low hitchance but decided to try it again, and it hit 3 times in a row.

I've also found that Mothballs seems to hit way more than 50% of the time.
