the pvp is obviously not random. if someone is queued up with a val'kyr, i go against them. if someone is queued up with a beast/undead/human, i go against them, if someone is queued up with a gate and i use my gate/minefield team i go against another gate team. or am i just seeing connections where there are none? i mean, it's not every time, but i chalk that up to there being no one else queued up but some random jank team.

also if i use lil rag i go against wolver/rag trap combo...so ya

The human brain is excellent at detecting patterns that don't actually exist.

The later it gets, the fewer players are queueing up. The fewer people in the queue, the more frequently you will be paired with someone that you've played before. Couple that with the fact that people tend to not to keep playing when they are losing and you wind up with an environment where you will be faced with difficult opponents. Smart opponents won't keep playing the same teams in order to avoid someone playing a perfect counter team.
