Jadefire Spirit and FADE

As I am doing a lot of Pet PvP, I came across a Team that used 2 [pet]Jadefire Spirit[/pet] and 1 Valkyr.

At first I couldn't really see any problems with this team, as my team had the counters it needed - I thought so ...

He startet with the Valk, and while I was doing some damage to her und eventually switched in my Bone Spieder to switch of the Valk (I open with Basilisk stun, damage, feign death, Grell comes in and uses fade for 2 turns, so the Valk wasn't doing any damage till i switched in the Spider to force her to the back).
Not very surprisingly he used Haunt when my Spider came in, so some damage on the Valk and some on my Spider, and now theres 2 Spirits ...
And then it started: all he used was [ability]FADE[/ability], I thought it was a Feign Death basically - but not even close! It has no CD! All he did was FADE FADE FADE FADE, while his Haunt was ticking. Since I couldn't do any Damage to him (Fade goes first anytime!).
When Haunt was over he switched in again, used it and proceeded with his Fade-Cycle. You simply can not do anything against this tactic ... Even if the Valk dies eventually - he may not stop his "Fading" and You may just leave or wait till he leaves ...

I really, REALLY hope Blizz adds a CD to this ability ... this is way more annoying then any crawdad or direhorn ever could be ...

A very badly implemented ability. Leave bug reports for it ingame.

You can counter this by having a pet with a goes first attack and a higher speed than the Jadefire Spirit. The "Always goes first" just adds 1625 to the pets speed so if both pets use that type of ability it ends up being like two normal abilities and who ever is faster goes first. There seem to be a handful of pets that meet this criteria but it is mostly Mongoose type pets with surge or Lizzards with Quick strike with the mongoose as the obvious option as surge is strong against elementals. Unfortunately I think they are pretty weak otherwise so I don't expect you'll have any in your normal team. You might however be able to switch in an all mongoose team and require to get a fight against that same team. A direhorn should be able to get some hits in using primal cry to slow the Spirit in the back row and then Charging when they are up front but I doubt that would be any where near enough to break the cycle.

Sounds like the next big cheese team we'll be seeing. No wonder Jadefire Spirits are getting so expensive...

[pet]Tiny White Carp[/pet] is probably the best counter. It's barely faster than a [pet]Jadefire Spirit[/pet] so it'll go first with surge and has high health/power for a high speed stat surge user, has a heal, and has dive which could be potentially useful vs another pet.

Now the ability is a proper clone of [ability]Feign death[/ability]
