Sandstorm getting a much needed nerf on PTR

Sandstorm's duration has been reduced to 5 rounds (down from 9 rounds), and cooldown has been increased to 5 rounds (up from 3 rounds).

Well thats a good start! Now if only they would fix the Idol's hit%! Because obviously they hit more then 40% and 70% when sandstorm is up!!

The Idol's hit is quite fine. You cant trust a small sample size. I dont like to use sandstorm myself on the idol as Crush seems to miss all the time.

Hrm, good change. Never use sandstorm with the idol regardless.

BUT the best thing about this change is wastewalker shu's annoying elemental. Now you won't have that 9 round sandstorm up during the last pet 80% of the time. More time shaved off.

Just use a Yeti and it'll remove the storm for you.

It'll also switch up his ability order, since he currently does Sandstorm after 3 rounds of Quake and 1 of Rupture. Should make it easier too.

Personally, I only use sandstorm against Aki. Not sure how this change will affect that fight.

Edit: I agree that this will be a good change in the fight with Shu.

You know how many times I've stopped and restarted a fight with Shu just because my (formerly 100%, now Sandstorm adjusted 90%) Howl misses and throws my entire timing off? Yeah, way more than 10% of the time. :evil: I, for one, welcome our new nerfed Sandstorm overlords.

Just use the red cricket. He doesn't care if he misses sometimes. :)

Im not sure if i think the sandstorm needed nerf, but i cetainly dont mind it, i find it fairly obnoxious to fight against :P

haha.. my philosophy is win or lose, I want to do it fast.

Remember that both teams benefit/suffer from weather effects. Use them to your advantage. If he lays down a Sandstorm you can add a Shell Shield. For that reason I don't see many top players running weather teams, they can backfire on you too easily.

I don't PvP battle so I can't speak to how it will change there, but I don't think this change will affect me too much. I use the Anubisath Idol for a lot of the tamers because his sandstorm protects my carry pet, which it will still do. I'll miss the extra hit on some aquatics probably with this longer cooldown, but not enough to be upset.
