I dont know if this is true for everyone, but are the characters you see when pvp pet battling the same for everyone?
Im presuming it would be too complicated to see your "real" adversary everytime. I know there is a little guy with a fishy helm who keeps popping up and I REALLY dont like him

The gnome mage is horrid too and he needs a new outfit ;p

They are randomly selected from a few models, yes.

They are real players competing against you, but the in-game "toon" you see in your pet battle is just a random model.
