Is there any possibility to communicate with your PvP opponent? As I often battle the same opponent some times in a row, I'd like to tell them things like "I'll always surr to FFF (as it denies my undeads passive)" or ask them for strategy.

Not really. Sometimes people will name their pets after themselves so you can find them in the Armory.

But that's defeating the point of Pet Battle PVP, which was to remove the individual from the match so it becomes more about skill and less about ego. Plus there won't be anyone rolling a character on your server to yell at you for managing to dodge their triple-turkey cheese team or something.
