Trouble deciding what Breed ID's to get for these pets

1. Twilight Fiendling - So many choices... He just seems neat: drain life, debuff your damage, aquatic DoT. H/H would be out, I know I would need P in there for stronger lifesteal. Unfortunately he doesn't have P/S he has P/P, H/P (not too fond of H specs), S/B, and B/B and I just can't choose! I think I have it narrowed down to P/P, S/B, or B/B.

2. Skunks - trying to decide between Skunk, Mountain Skunk, or Highlands Skunk. The skunk seems like a neat support critter cause he can get in, drop a stink bomb, heal the team, and get out. To me P/S is the way to go, but none of those have that. Skunk has S/B, Mountain Skunk has B/B, and Highlands Skunk has S/S. Again, plucking my hair out at which to go for.

3. Sporeling Sprout - I like this little guy, neat move pool: go first human attack, leech seed, and DoT seed are my favorites. Since he has the go first charge (which I love for screwing up pets that depend on going first for more damage) why need S? He's got a respectable 260 Speed anyway. So I was thinking H/P, or P/P.

....

that's all off the top of my head; more later.

Fiendling is a bit clumsy: you'll often refresh DoTs early due to the cooldown on Rake, which makes them pretty inefficient for damage. Siphon Life heavily favors power; Rake favors health. DoTs deal damage at end of turn regardless of speed, so being faster isn't that much use to him. H/H, H/P, or P/P would be the better choices, but there isn't a breed out there that's going to be particularly impressive.

For the skunk, I'd consider H/P (Mountain Skunk), or maybe the P/P version (Stinker). If he's going to swap in and out, he needs to take a beating. His heals scale with power, and the -hit debuff favors health. H/S could work too, though at 289 speed it's not especially fast.

Sporeling Sprout is a fun tanky pet. The humanoid passive gives you big returns on health, especially with a DoT-based pet who can backrow and keep healing. Leech Seed scales very well with power; Crouch favors health. I like the H/H on this guy, but H/P is also a good choice.

Best breed for

Flayer Youngling?

Fel Flame?

Crow?

Sprite Darter Hatchling?

I literally just found out yesterday that breeds exist (after letting a lot of multiple rare pets go with no idea that they might have been different breeds) but I'm looking to maximize my pet line-up so I have a good battler in each of the families.

Sprite Darter Hatchling only has one breed. It's the S/S breed id of 5.
For the Crow you're better off getting the P/S breed of 8.
For the Fel Flame I prefer the H/H breed of 6, but you probably wont go wrong with any of his.
Flayer Youngling has all the breed IDs available (most pets only have a selection) and I personally prefer the P/P breed ID 4.

They also have different basestats. So some breeds of moth differ from same breed of other moths - and so on. The neutral basestat is 1400/260/260 before breed-bonus. But some might have 1237/276/276 or 1237/260/292. It really differs a lot. The info is hard to find at one place, so I made such a list. Google-doc with all breeds and ability sets

Flayer Youngling will depend on how you want to use him. For chewing up critters, P/P is the way to go. If you want to utilize interrupt and reflect, people tend to prefer S/S. From what I've seen, a lot of people tend to keep one of each.

I never really see why it's so much better with breed 5 for using reflection. You reflect the ability even if you go after the enemy.

For slot 1 abilities, Blitz deals 350 damage on average if you go first with 260 power (breed 5); Blitz deals 260 damage on average if you go 2nd with 325 power (breed 4); Triple Snap deals 345 damage on average with 325 power (breed 4). So for slot 1, being faster is better than the power from breed 4.

Reflection isn't affected by speed.

Kick is obviously only good if you go first. The main benefit of Kick is to stall: you deal a little bit of damage, you heal a little bit with humanoid racial, you prevent the opponent's action, and you tick off one round of Reflection's cooldown. This is probably why people say the breed 5 is better for Reflection, although the benefit is fairly indirect.

Rampage deals 350 damage per hit with the breed 5, and 430 damage per hit with the breed 4. This is the only ability where power is better, so if you're using a breed 4, it's safe to assume you're using Rampage.

Just for reference, the damage-per-turn (dpt) of a breed 5 flayer using Kick on cooldown and otherwise spamming Blitz is 298, while Kick is causing the opponent to skip every 4th turn if you're faster. The dpt of a breed 4 flayer spamming Triple Snap/Rampage on cooldown is 388. So, under lab conditions, they are very evenly matched, but the Kick version is much more defensive, gets more from the humanoid racial, and gets more effective uses out of Reflection. You also avoid locking yourself into Rampage for 3 turns--this move is great for killing critters in PvE, but in PvP it gives the opponent 3 turns where you definitely can't swap or reflect.
