Dragon Kite no longer a Battle Pet??

After leveling my kite to 21 a few days ago, I attempted to finish leveling him today while doing my dailies. I then noticed when I summoned it from my pet journal that "this creature cannot battle" was written. Did I miss a memo that Blizzard was going to remove the Dragon Kite as a Battle Pet, or is it just my add-on's messing with my computer again? I tried to find something on the WoW forums regarding this but to no avail. If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated
