i'm so excited to finally kill this hyena lol - forgive the basic text but here was my strat 1st attempt with this trio

knockoff blingtron: 2, -, 1
dark whelpling: -, 2, 1
lil bling: 2, -, 1

start off with knockoff make it rain, then inflation, if still alive make it rain again - he dies
then dark whelpling with call darkness swap to lil bling
make it rain, then inflation if still alive make it rain again
dark whelping with lift off - chomp should be dead

Another strat I used was:

Unborne Valkyrie, I used curse of doom, then haunt.
Lil' Bling, used make it rain, then inflation until Chomp was dead.

I had Darkmoon Tonk in reserve to use shock and awe if it came to it!

I found three Mechanical Pets, at least two with explode make short work of this one. You can just beat him down with strong Mechanical attacks and explode the first two pets when low on health so he cant heal from them. I think I used a Darkmoon Zep, a Blackfuse Bombling and a Tranquil Mechanical Yeti as a finisher.
