[2 Pet Guide] 14 grand masters, 1 hour, easy to get pets

Hello,

I have been a big fan and lurker for a little while now. I love this resource and wanted to give something back. Below is my 2 pet strategy for a one hour run of 13-14 grand masters using only pets that you can get in quests, cage, or buy from a vendor. I hope this can help those starting out and prove that expensive pets are not always necessary. I even found in multiple cases that what I came up with was faster and more efficient than previous strategies. Actually I started to write out which ones then realized that the majority of these were an improvement on previous strategies I had used in the past (primarily utilizing Anubisath Idol).

I hope you give these a try, even if you have a big collection, u might find them even easier than what you were doing.

Cheers,
H.G.

Only the rabbits (if you get [pet]Snowshoe Rabbit[/pet] or [pet]Brown Rabbit[/pet], or [pet]Spring Rabbit[/pet] which doesn't come in S/B or [pet]Darkmoon Rabbit[/pet] which is a tad expensive) on your list of cageable pets can actually be caged. The others are all from wild battles and thus cannot be caged.

Even if they aren't all cageable, they should be fairly easy to obtain for those that don't have them if they are wild.

I will have to try these out when I make my rounds. I always get them down but some of the tamers irritate me so a new option would be nice--Thanks for taking the time to share the info.

shu and moruk were always agrivating me because of rng, but I feel a lot better about them now. Thundering pandaran spirit is now also very easy and this lets u use it to lvl any pet. Less RNG then with the MPD.

I was actually referring to the whole species, not just those with "rabbit" in their name. Will change it in OP.

Thanks for this. I never bothered to tighten up my 2-pet Draenor strats like this so yours has been helpful.

I'm assuming you have run into the problem with Taralune's second Moth sleeping your 2nd Nexus Whelping? Afaik, this is an auto loss if you carry pet can't step in and take up the slack.

I also recently scored a crit with my Warbot's minefield against Gargra...it killed the 3rd pup in one shot.

Thanks again!

I can usually live through the sleep as long as the second nexus is always the P/S one. I did lose when he hit 3 times twice with his first attack. as long as you live though the second guy you always kill the third with no damage. Assuming you don't get put to sleep its a very fast battle. I still cant find a decent strat for cymere without using Pandaran mechanical dragonling. want to find a cagable 2 pet strat but its very difficult.

Against garra you should never be using minefield more than once. If you are killing the 3rd pet with it you probably should have passed or just used missile. Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Yea, the P/S Whelping in the second slot has been more consistent for me.

As far as the minefield, you can crit for 1500 against that last pup. It one-shots him. I have never used it more than once in the battle. I had this happen on consecutive days, not allowing me to kill of my Iron Starlette.

how does that happen I wonder, if you start against pet #1 with minefield, then follow up with missile, how does the third pet ever get hit with it? if you get to the third pet and warbot is still up pass and let warbot die if you have too so that iron star can finish it off.

Maybe I'm dumb, but what in the hell does this mean?
Key:
Abilities are listed 1-6 based on order gained for the pet currently in battle
S-”pet X” = Switch to pet “X”
Any = any single turn ability
Tarr the Terrible

Carry (over 700 hp)
Ghostly Skull (1,2,6)
Blighthawk (1,2,3)
What the hell does "based on order gained." After that, what the hell does "Ghostly Skull (1,2,6)" mean? 1, 2 I understand, but SIX? 6?! There's 2 abilities per slot on each pet. None of this makes sense to me and it definitely isn't intuitive. Every guide I know of is

Ghostly Skull (1,2,1)
Ghostly Skull (2,2,2)
Ghostly Skull (1,1,1)
Ghostly Skull (1,2,1)

not

Ghostly Skull (5,3,6,Hike)

Totally confused and not kidding. :oops:

Order gained:

1 = slot 1 starting ability at level 1
2 = slot 2 ability learned at level 2
3 = slot 3 ability learned at level 4
4 = slot 1 ability learned at level 10
5 = slot 2 ability learned at level 15
6 = slot 3 ability learned at level 20

So
slot 1 options: 1 or 4
slot 2 options: 2 or 5
slot 3 options: 3 or 6

Possible combinations:

1,2,3
1,2,6
1,5,3
1,5,6
4,2,3
4,2,6
4,5,3
4,5,6

It's a very different numbering system, but I understand where they are coming from. Still...I'm a fan of just spelling it out rather than using the numbers.

Brain fart caused by tending to a newborn for the past month. I guess I'm using your strat out of order. I cast minefield for the first time when the 2nd wolf casts dodge. I must have noodled myself into an alternative puzzle that works well enough that I never checked it against your OP. Sorry for the confusion.

Hehe, glad its working for u though.

Anyone have a 2 pet strat for Cymere that meets the conditions I set on pet choices? Still haven't come up with anything that works very well.

Sorry about that, I know others use the system u describe, but this required me to do a lot less writing and condenses the guide as much as possible. How would u tell someone which "2" to use unless you specifically write it out? I added a somewhat more clear description to the OP. All u need to know is which pet is out and the numbers following it say which ability to use out of the 6 possible. In 3 lines I can say the same thing as 2 paragraphs, that is worth it imo.

Cheers,
H.G,

You can 2 pet him using a P/P Emperor Crab and the P/P Infinite Whelpling. From http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/f ... pet+guides

[npc=]Cymre Brightblade[/npc]
Team 1: ~16 rounds

Emperor Crab - P/P - 1,2,6
Carry Pet - needs 150 hp
Infinite Whelpling - P/P - 1,2,3

vs. Idol

- Open with Crab > Whirlpool > Snap until Idol is under 300 hp > Swap to Carry (to avoid triggering Dark Rebirth) > Swap to Crab (to get Rebirth to drop off) > Renewing Mists > Snap > Swap on Whelpling on undead racial

vs. Wishbright

- Healing Flame (should heal to full) > Tail Sweep until Wishbright is dead. Should make Wish whiff.

vs. Gyrexle

- Early Advantage > Tail Sweep > Tail Sweep

Sweet, will test it today then will add it to guide. only adds one more pet to the roster and one everyone should get anyway.
