Getting started in PVP?

How do you guys decide which pets to run in PVP? I've been doing PVE for a long time, and love figuring out pet teams and strategies for that, but it seems next to impossible to do any actual planning when it comes to PVP. Anyone have tips for getting started, or suggestions for teams?
