Kaw! Nevermore!

What exactly are the constraints when using this spell? I used it in a pvp pet battle near the end to prevent the building those guys. It said it hit/applied but then it immediately faded off him. Does it not work on mechanical pets or pets that build things like that?

Nevermore lasts until end-of-round, or until the opponent uses an ability, whichever comes first. If Nevermore expires because the opponent used an ability, then that ability will still go off, but it will become unusable for 5 rounds (ie it will appear to have a 5-round cooldown). Build Turret has a 3-round cooldown anyway, so you probably didn't notice much effect. Nevermore can be very nasty if it nails the opponent's only spammable attack, but that's a matter of guesswork, and the opponent can usually swap out to mitigate it.

Really? Are you kidding? That's utterly useless and doesn't make sense. It says the next ability won't be usable for five rounds. It doesn't have a clause at the end that says 'except that first time.' This would be so freakin' awesome if it wasn't for this. Dx

It is and it isn't. You're right that it's hardly useful in PvP. but it can be amazing in PvE daily battles. But it still has to be used at the right time.
