Starcraft 2 CE baneling advice

Heya Peeps, I'm in a position now where I can buy sc2 to get the WoW pet but I noticed the original non CE is down from $50 to $25, if I buy the standard, can I just pay to upgrade to CE like we can with the WoW xpacs? and maybe save myself $20?

If you have the standard version of Heart of the Swarm, you can upgrade to the digital deluxe edition for $20. But you'll probably still need the base sc2 game, Wings of Liberty, in order to get Heart of the Swarm.

I was in the same situation. I purchased the Heart of the Swarm CE, but also needed to pick up a copy of the Wings of Liberty for the expansion to work. Hope this helps.
