Snowy Owl Breed

Post by Abashera » December 22nd, 2013, 3:10 am

I have a P/B and a B/B. The level 10 ability says "Hits an additional time if the user attacks first." It doesn't say the ability is dependent on being a faster breed. And unless you're either fighting something that has an ability that goes first (i.e. Surge), or you're going against another Flying pet, you will always go first.

To add, most of it's abilities are strong against Aquatic, so chances are, if you're using the pet properly, you will go first.

It seems to me then that P/B would be the way to go. And I don't see the point in hunting down a S/B. Though I may keep hunting for a rare P/B.

Any other thoughts?

"User going first" means you need to have the initiative in the particular round. Theres no fast snowy owls so regardless you will most likely have inititiave till sub50% hp on any of the breeds, so pump attack on the thing. PB.

I guess it depends on what you consider fast. They're not three fifty seven fast. But they're all above the three hundred mark.

P/B - 305
B/B - 309
S/B - 322

But as you confirmed, speed won't make a great difference if you're going first anyway, which you should do against Aquatics.

I just wish Shriek lasted more than 3 rounds. And as far as abilities go it seems like a very lack luster battle-pet. Especially considering you need to pare it with another pet that has Blind in order to fully benefit from Nocturnal Strike, and then you will need to use (lose) a turn swapping.

Just for fun I'll try him against the crocks at the tamer in Shattrath. I normally use the yellow moth, which eats them crocks alive. But I think the Snowy Owl should do nicely.

My bigger problem is that I only have one spare flying battle-stone. And I still have five other pets I want to stone: Gilnean Raven, Tirisfal Batling (B/B), Crow (S/S), Azure Crane Chick (S/S), Tiny Sporebat.
