Tomorrow's the day... Macabre Marionette!
I won't be able to do the Day of the Dead quests until this evening and I'm digging for news about the Macabre Marionette. Who has theirs? Is the process to obtain one different in any way from past years? Can anyone confirm whether he can be caged?

Isn't it tomorrow for the Marionette? I thought the Day of the Dead event started on 1 November.

You are absolutely right. I just checked the calendar at Wow's website. It starts at 10:00 a.m. on November 1st.
My apologies, I jumped the gun after seeing someone post that they'd gotten the marionette on the wow forums. Clearly a hallow's end trick... err...troll!
I'll change the thread title.

Even though the Macabre Marionette won't be released until tomorrow (November 1st), I can at least confirm that it will be cageable.
It's not flagged in the Pet Journal as "not tradeable", so if you know someone who might miss the Day of the Dead event (or just want to sell the pets at a later date), be sure to collect a few extra marionettes on alts.

Tomorrow's going to be quite crazy for me, so for advance preparation, is the quest just to bring simple flour (or something) to the graveyard of your home city? It's been a while since I did the quest to even get the temporary guy.

As far as we know, yup, it's the same quest as previous years.Yalina wrote:Tomorrow's going to be quite crazy for me, so for advance preparation, is the quest just to bring simple flour (or something) to the graveyard of your home city? I think it should be available at any major city, except cities of each race only hand out the quest to those of their race. Darnassus will only give out the quest to nelf, Silvermoon to belfs, etc. Dalaran and Shattrath are neutral and should offer the quest to everyone.

You need ice cold milk and simple flour to bake the bread needed for the quest

I can confirm it is the same quest, Dalaran was the easiest for me as it is still neutral and yes, you can cage them just fine.

I'm SO excited!!! I knew they'd just have to make it a permanent pet eventually

Thanks! My night elf bought both ingredients and is in the Darnassus graveyard. Now to find the time today to log into her...Valielina wrote:You need ice cold milk and simple flour to bake the bread needed for the quest

Heads up - I've only been able to complete it on one character. Tried multiple chars both Alliance and Horde, different realms, none are avaidible of getting the quest more than once. Checking back tomorrow to see if it's a daily thing.

Thanks for reporting this. Please keep us updated on whether or not you can complete the quest on more than one character during the event!The_trainmaster wrote:Heads up - I've only been able to complete it on one character. If the event's not popping up yet (even though it's the correct time) CRZ might be causing some problems. That's my best guess.
As for completing the quest on multiple characters: I think you can, but you can only complete it once per major city (Dalaran and Shattrath being exceptions). You might need alts of different races to acquire more than one pet. I'll test this out later today.

I've done it on two characters so far (in Org and Undercity), so it is possible.
